나의 작업들이 우리가 함께 살았던 이 시대의 자화상으로 남아주기를 빌며 오늘도 어제와 다른 얼굴들을 만나고 있다. 이번 전시는 시대의 모습들과 감정을 담아내는 이전 작업의 연장된 작업으로, 도자라는 나의 모태 언어를 너머 버려진 물건, 기성품등 다양한 사물들이 하나로 연결되어 그림을 완성하듯 나의 관점으로 바라본 우리 시대의 여러 이야기들을 발견된 오브제와 조합하여 기존의 영역이 아닌 확장된 개념의 작업으로 나아가고자 한다. 나의 인생도 다양한 조각들이 맞춰지며 하나의 큰 그림을 만들어 가듯 다양한 종이 조각, 오브제들이 하나의 그림이 되어 나의 시대의 이야기들이 또다른 형태의 기록으로 남아주기를 빌어 본다. ■ 최규락

I hope that my works will remain self-portraits of the times we lived together, and I am meeting faces that are different from yesterday. This exhibition is an extension of my previous work that captures the images and emotions of the times, and I want to move forward with an expanded concept of work rather than a conventional realm through the combination with found objects that look at various stories of our times from my point of view, just as various objects such as discarded objects and ready-made items are connected to complete a painting, beyond my major of ceramics. Just as various pieces of my life are put together to form one big picture, I hope that various pieces of paper and objects will become a picture and that the stories of my time will remain as another form of record. ■ KYURAK CHOI
