현대차 정몽구 재단의 소셜임팩트 플랫폼 '온드림 소사이어티'에서는 지난 해에 이어 참신하고 역량있는 청년작가들을 발굴하기 위한 작품공모 『ONSO ARTIST OPEN CALL 2023』을 진행하였습니다. 공모 결과 4인의 청년작가를 최종 선정하였으며, 선정작가들의 개인전은 서울 명동에 위치한 온드림 소사이어티에서 순차적으로 개최할 예정입니다. 의미있는 공간에서 대중에게 예술적 메시지를 전할 청년작가들의 전시에 많은 관심을 부탁드립니다.  ■ 온드림 소사이어티

김이린_영화관에 간 나무_마대천에 한지콜라주, 혼합재료_45.5×53cm_2018

음악은 자연의 조화로운 원리를 반영하는 영역으로 과학과 밀접한 관계를 맺고있다. 음악과 과학의 첫 만남은 기원전 6세기 피타고라스학파가 발견한 현의 길이와 음높이 사이의 관계이며, 음악은 오랫동안 자연의 원리를 담지하고 있는 영역으로 간주되었다. 아이작 뉴턴(Isaac Newton)역시 이와 같은 관념을 전제하에 프리즘 실험을 직접 재현하였고, 스펙트럼색을 일곱가지로 구분하였으며, 계이름인 도레미파솔라시(Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si)에서 착안하여 빨강(red), 주황(orange), 노랑(yellow), 초록(green), 파랑(blue), 남색(indigo), 보라(violet)로 색의 이름을 정하였다. ● 18세기 말 이전까지 색(Color)은 예술의 여러 요소 중 가장 부수적인 요소로 여겨졌다. 뉴턴의 프리즘 실험 이후 색을 과학적이고 정확하게 묘사하게 되었고, 점차 미학적 논의와 학술지에서 표준적으로 다루어지게 되었다. 색이 있다는 것은 살아있다는 것이며 불(火)과 같이 인간의 기초적인 필요를 나타낸다. 나는 자연과 인간에 대한 사유를 색을 통하여 드러낸다. 심상을 함축적으로 표현하고자, 생각과 감정을 색채와 같은 시각적 요소로 나타낸다. 색채 간의 조화는 현실세계의 생동감을 반영한 것이며, 일상에 대한 관찰을 토대로 하였다. 따라서 나에게 색은 자연과 가까이 하고자 하는 마음을 표현하는 매개이며 가장 필수적인 요소인 것이다. ● 자연은 일상의 치열함에서 벗어나 숨을 고르고 여유를 찾을 수 있는 안식의 공간이다. 그러나 근대의 이분법적 사유는 자연을 기계로 여기고 인간의 지배를 정당화하여 환경파괴와 생태계 교란 등의 결과를 생성하였다. 나는 고통받은 자연에 사과하고 위로를 전하고자, 자연을 나의 일상으로 초대하여 놀고 즐기며 휴식을 취하는 모습을 그린다. 우리 인간은 늘 자연을 일방적인 방식으로 이해하고 행동한다. 그 결과 따사로운 햇살과 살랑거리는 바람과 같이 다양한 방식으로 우리들에게 끊임없이 소통하고자 건네는 말들을 간과하였는지도 모른다. 나는 이제라도 나만의 방식으로 자연과 소통하며 그 내밀한 말들에 귀 기울이고자 한다. ■ 김이린

Music is an area that reflects the harmonious principles of the universe and nature and has a close relationship with science. The first meeting between music and science was in the 6th century BC when the Pythagorean school discovered the relationship between the length of a string and the pitch of a sound. Since then, significant progress has been made in both music and science. Isaac Newton also reproduced the prism experiment based on this concept. Inspired by the Solfeggio scale (Do Re Mi Pa Sol La Si), he divided the spectral colors into seven; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. ● Before the late 18th century, color was considered the most incidental element among various elements of art. After Newton's prism experiment, color was described scientifically and accurately, and gradually became a standard topic of aesthetic discussion and academic journals. The existence of color represents the vitality of life, like fire, and represents a fundamental need of humans. I express my thoughts and emotions through visual elements such as color to convey the contemplation of nature and humans. The harmony between colors reflects the vitality of the real world, based on observations of everyday life. Therefore, to me, color is a medium that expresses my desire to be closer to nature and the most essential element. ● Nature is a space where we can find a breath of fresh air and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. However, the dualistic thinking of modern times has regarded nature as a machine and justified human domination, resulting in environmental destruction and ecosystem disturbance. I apologize to the suffering nature and try to comfort it by inviting nature into my daily life, drawing scenes where I play, enjoy and rest. Humans often overlook the constant messages nature communicates to us in various ways, such as warm sunlight and gentle breezes. In this exhibition, my imaginary space allows nature to take a well-deserved rest. I want to find my own way to communicate with nature and listen to its profound messages. ■ KIMIRIN
