As an artist working primarily with watercolor, my intention is to incite a spiritual mood and elicit sensual beauty through the transparent quality and stain effect of this medium on paper. Watercolor has a unique ability to capture light and color in a way that allows the viewer to e×perience a sense of transcendence and inner peace. ● I believe that the key to achieving this effect is to approach watercolor as a process of discovery and e×ploration. Instead of trying to control every aspect of the painting, I allow the medium to guide me, following the movement of the water and the way it interacts with the paper. ● My goal is to create a sense of space and depth within the painting, using the transparency of the watercolor to suggest a world beyond what is immediately visible. I am interested in the way that light can be captured in the layers of washes, creating a luminous effect that suggests the presence of something intangible and ephemeral. ● At the same time, I am also interested in the sensual beauty that can be achieved through the stain effect of watercolor on paper. The way that the color bleeds and blends creates a sense of movement and flow, suggesting the movement of water or the swaying of trees in the wind. This effect can be especially powerful when combined with the transparency of the medium, creating a sense of depth and comple×ity that draws the viewer in. ● Overall, I approach watercolor with a mindset of e×ploration, e×perimentation, and discovery through my art.
