In seeking ways to make his "visual process" a spiritual one, Park works hard to connect the "energy" force of changing speeds and intensities to the subtle, light-filled, qualities in his work. Park admits to being fascinated by the organization of life systems such as membranes, topographical maps and geometry and believes that the grid on which he chooses to work is universal and omnipresent. His use of dye, coffee, ink, watercolor, and oil on this grid structure becomes a metaphor of spiritual and transcendent existence.
