Green gables happening

2021-2022 청주미술창작스튜디오는 15기 작가들의 입주기간 창작 성과물을 전시로 선보이는 릴레이 프로젝트를 진행한다. 입주작가 릴레이 프로젝트는 창작스튜디오 입주를 통해서 새롭게 도출된 작가 개인의 작업 방향에 대한 진지한 고민을 일반 관람객에게 소개하는 전시이다. 이번 15기 작가는 총 18명이 선정되었으며, 내년 4월까지 진행된다. ■ 청주미술창작스튜디오

나는 도시 속 외적인 환경에 의해 형성된 개인의 생각, 감정, 심리 등 내적인 것들에 관심이 많다. 무엇이 우리를 지나치게 둘러싸고 있는지, 무엇을 우리가 육체적, 정신적으로 자연스럽게 끊임없이 소비하는지, 동시에 우리에게 끊임없이 요구되고 있는 것들, 이를 충족시키기 위한 치장(위장), 행동 방향, 시간 소비 계획, 배경 환경 조성 및 구축 등을 사유한다. 하이컨트롤(hi-controlled)되어 도시에 들어온 자연과 그 경계 안 우리. 그 시스템 안의 우리는 어떤 것을 그리고 있을까 … 현 도시 시간을 살아가며 바라보고 예술로 기록하고자한다.

나는 이 도시 속의 한 도시인으로 도시라는 환경 조건이 만든 축척 된 이미지, 도시 속 매개된 기억을 주제로 영상, 설치, 사진, 판화 등 다 매체로 시각화 한다. 하루에도 셀 수 없이 쏟아져 나오는 이미지들, 빠르게 변화하는 가운데서 영원성을 이야기할 수 없는 도시는 나의 작업에도 영향을 준다. 대개의 작품은 영원히 남는 작품이 아니라, 동시대 해프닝 같은 일회성을 갖고 작업하기에, 잡을 수 있는 안정감과 무게감이 아닌, 가벼운 순간의 현재의 시간, 이미지를 보인다. 작업의 '가벼운 순간의 현재의 시간, 이미지' 또한 소비하는 이미지로 존재한다. 나는 계속되는 사회 구축, 불안정한 사회 시스템 안의 자연 뿐 아니라, 이 도시 안의 삶을 사유하며 그 안에서 바라본 것들을 그린다. ■ 민정See

I am interested in our psychological thoughts, emotions, and inner conditions in a relationship between human nature and a city. I look at what excessively surrounds us, and what we intimately consume both physically and mentally like plastics and our plastic culture in a city. Through my interpretation of both mental and physical receiving from daily life of city I intuitively build works that imply ephemeral relationships of the instant city culture. ● I use different media such as film, photograph, printmaking, and installation under the theme of landscape in the city. Surrounding by thousands images of city dwellers publish a day and plastic products everyday spilled into the street, nobody would say eternal nature there. This instant city culture has influenced to the way of creating my work. I build works emphasizing weak and light quality rather than stable and heavy quality, which is fragile structures and concepts, implying the ephemeral relationships of an era of loss as contemporary happenings. ■ MinjungSee
