'작업한다'라는 자발적이고 유쾌한 고립행위 안에서 가장 정직하게 작업할 수 있는 방식은 몸을 활용한 체험이라 생각한다. 온몸으로 밀고 나가는... '온몸에 의한 온몸의 이행'의 구도자적 접근방식으로 작업을 진행 한다. 이러한 나의 작업진행과정은 삶의 경건성을 상위에 두고 진정성을 가지고 미적 가치를 수행하려는 삶에 대한 사고에서 비롯되었다고 할 수 있다. 이 세상의 모든 것이 과정의 산물 이듯이 이번 작품들도 원하는 작업의 이미지를 얻기 위해 오랜 시간 동안 시행착오를 거치며 몸으로 체득한 노동의 결과물이며 나무의 결을 알리는 나이테처럼 시간을 품고 견딤을 통하여 얻어진 형태와 빛깔들이다. ■ 최홍선

I consider an act of working is delightfully done by my own freewill. I believe a way to create the most candid work is to trade on my own body. So I do my work in a manner which can be a "whole body's practice for my whole body". The process of my work has derived from my idea and attitude towards life to practice aesthetic value with sincerity and authenticity, placing devotion to life on a higher level. As everything in the world is a product of a process, the works on display at the exhibition are the results of my labor I have mastered with my own body after many errors in my quest to secure the images I want. Like the annual rings that tell a tree's age, they are forms and colors I have gained by embracing and enduring time. ■ CHOIHONGSUN
