사라지기 쉬운 현수막 Ephemeral Placard

현수막은 공적 공간 안에서 적극적 자기표현의 수단임과 동시에 그것이 존재하는 공간의 정체성을 결정짓기도 한다. 오늘날 성북동의 풍경은 집집마다 내걸린 원색조의 현수막에 가려 과거의 고즈넉함은 찾아볼 수 없다. 자신의 집을 지키겠다는 결의에 찬 문구들은 당사자는 물론 이웃의 일상마저도 투장의 장으로 만들어 버렸다.「사라지기 쉬운 현수막」프로젝트는 주민들에게 새로운 형태의 현수막을 제안한다. 작은 거울 조각들로 이루어진 조형물은 그것이 반사해 만들어 내는 빛의 조합을 통해 '내 집의 의미'가 담긴 짧은 문구를 완성한다. 그리고 이를 주변 도로 위나 담벼락에 드리게 된다. 이 현수막은 시간의 흐름에 따라 그 형태를 달리하며 그 존재를 드러내고 사라지기를 반복한다. ■ 최영환

Placard is method for active self-expression in public space and also characterizes identity of the space where it exists. In these days landscape of Seongbuk-Dong is covered with bright-colored placard at every house that makes hard to feel nostalgia. Phrases filled with firm determination for protecting their houses made themselves and even neighbors everyday life to battlefield. Project「Ephemeral Placard」suggests a new form of placard to community. The structure consists of small mirror pieces showing short phrases that connote "the meaning of my home" by the combination of the reflection of sunlight. And it casts the reflection to near road and wall. This placard appears and disappears repeatedly with changing its form following the passage of time. ■ CHOIYOUNGHWAN
