누가 세상이 아름답다 말하는가. 사실 우리의 자연이란 고통이며 소멸의 공간 일지도 모른다. 먹고 먹히는 사슬관계로 모든 종은 생을 되풀이 하며 예정된 소멸로 달려가는 진행형의 공간이다. 본능에 이끌려 다음 생을 유지하고 하루하루 공격과 추위, 굶주림으로부터 초조함을 견디어 내는 사투의 현장 일지도 모른다. 그것은 절규와 쾌락이 공존한다. 야생의 양귀비에게도, 피 빨아 먹는 모기도, 저 멀리 내 머리 위를 스치는 먼 과거의 별자리들에게도. 생이건 무생이건 산다는 이유에 토를 달지 못한 채 제각기 불안의 태생을 안고 살아간다. 인간사 역시 마찬가지 일 것이다. 나의 무의식을 가득 채운 과도한 에너지와 즉흥의 붓질들은 감정의 증폭마디가 되어 상징과 은유로 캔버스에 옮겨진다. 그것은 이 세상이 작동하는 불편한 진실에 대한 스스로의 선문답이다. ■ 박미례

Who says the world is beautiful. In reality our nature may be a space of extinction and suffering. It's a progressive space where all species repeat the pyramid of dog-eat-dog chain cycle as they race toward the scheduled extinction. It is possibly a site of deadly combat, enduring the everyday attack, cold, and hunger as our instinctive nature leads to another life. Painful cry and pleasure coexist here. To the poppies of the wild, to the blood-sucking mosquitoes, to the past's constellations which flash far away above my head; Organic or inorganic, all creatures live with their own unstable origin not being able to question the reason for life. It is exactly the same for human beings. The heated energy and improvised brush strokes fill my unconsciousness as it became the joint of amplified emotions and moved onto canvas as symbols and metaphors. This is my own zen riddle to the inconvenient truth of this world's operation. ■ PARKMIRAE
