탐 貪

어둠 속 자신의 꼬리를 물고 있는 형체를 알 수 없는 무엇인가가 또 움직이기 시작했다... ● 사람들은 각자의 마음속에 탐(貪)이라는 동물과 같이 살아간다. 세상에 있는 모든 것을 먹어 치우고 암흑 속에서 발견한 자기 자신마저도 스스로 먹어버리는 '탐(貪)'은 지금 우리의 모습과도 같다. 우리의 내면에 '편안함'을 바탕으로 자리 잡은 '욕망'의 탐(貪)은 그 힘과 유혹으로 자신이 먹히는 걸 알면서도 스스로 만족하지 못한 우리에게 탐(貪)의 욕망의 질주를 계속 원한다. ● "나는 콜라가 좋다. 무설탕 콜라가 좋다. 덥거나 힘들고 목마르고 심심할 때 '치익' 소리와 함께 나의 가슴을 시원하게 해주는 독약이 좋다." ● 작업실 한 구석을 차지하고 있는 콜라병. 이것은 나의 탐(貪)의 한 부분이다. 수많은 콜라병들을 뒤돌아보며 오늘도 콜라를 마신다. 나는 오늘 꼬리의 어느 부분을 먹고 있을까? ■ 한영균

The animal that was biting it's own tail in the dark began to move again... ● People live with the animal "Greed (貪)" in their mind. "Greed", which ultimately consumes itself in the dark after eating everything in the world, is like us nowadays. "Greed" which evolved into "comfortableness" inside our mind wants us to run for the insatiable greediness, which cant be satisfied and knows that it will be eaten by it's power and attraction. ● "I like coke. I like diet coke. When I am hot, tired, thirsty, or bored, I like to drink poison that makes my chest cool with the 'Chiyik' sound." ● A coke bottle sitting in the corner of my workroom. That is one example of my greediness (貪). I drink another bottle of coke while staring at those many coke bottles. What part of my tail am I eating today? ■ HANYOUNGKYUN

탐이야기 ● 오래전에 한 마리의 동물이 살았다. 그 동물의 특징은 첫째 몸집이 크다는 것 그리고 욕심이 많다는 것이다. 그것은 뭐든지 먹어치우는 습성이 있어서 흙이든 돌이든 산... 바다 할 것 없이 전부 먹어 치운다. 물론 인간도 예외가 아니며 인간의 창조물 또한 마찬가지였다. 맛과 모양에 상관없이 무조건 뱃속에 집어넣었으며, 탐욕적이고, 추악하며 그 끝을 알 수 없는 힘을 가지고 있었다. 게다가 한계를 모른다. 만족이란 단어를 모르는 이 동물의 이름은 "탐(貪)"이라 했다. 그리하여 "탐(貪)"은 모든 걸 삼키고 어둠만을 남긴다. 오랜 시간 삼킬 것을 찾아다니던 "탐(貪)"은 어둠속에서 자기의 꼬리를 발견하고는 먹어 치우기 시작한다... 그리고 남는 것은.... "무(無)" 였다. ■ 한영균

A long time ago, there was an animal. The things to be mentioned were first, it had a huge body, and second, it was very greedy. It ate anything and everything including sand, rocks, mountains, or oceans. Humans and human creations were not excluded. the animal would try to put anything inside its belly, regardless of the flavor or shape, and it was greedy, disgusting and endlessly powerful. Also it had no limitations. This insatiable animal was named "Greed (貪)". So this "Greed(貪)" swallowed everything until the only thing left was darkness. After that, "Greed (貪)" wandered around in the darkness for a long time searching for something to eat, until it finally found its own tail in the dark and began to eat....and the only thing that was left was...
