Blue, Hidden Nature

2024 삼각산금암미술관 공예 전시 공모전은 2018년 삼각산금암미술관 개관 이후 처음으로 개최하는 공모전입니다. 이번 공모전은 한옥 마을이라는 지역적 특색과 어울리는 작품을 출품하는 '은평(EUNPYEONG)', 북한산을 비롯해 자연과 어우러지는 작품을 다루는 '에코(ECO)', 관람객과 함께 작품을 만들어 가는 '에브리(EVERY)'로 구성하였습니다.

전시의 두 번째 주제인 ECO 분야는 『Blue, Hidden Nature』展으로 작가의 작업실 인근의 봉제소에서 버리는 자투리 청바지 원단(데님)의 색다른 변신을 소개합니다.

산업사회의 혁명인 데님은 갈리고 붙여지고 쌓이며 자연 본연의 모습을 찾아갑니다. 작가의 손을 거치는 인위적인 행동에서 만들어진 데님의 표면은 인간의 손이 닿지 않은 자연의 표피를 떠올리게 합니다.

The 2024 Samgaksan Geumam Art Museum Craft Exhibition Competition is the first competition to be held since the museum opened in 2018. Unlike other top competitions, this exhibition features three categories: 'Eunpyeong,' which focuses on works that harmonize with the regional characteristics of Hanok Village; 'Eco,' which showcases works that blend with nature, featuring Mt. Bukhan; and 'Every,' which includes content that allows the audience to engage in the creation of the artwork. ● The second theme of the exhibition, the ECO category, features the exhibition 『Blue, Hidden Nature』, showcasing the unique transformation of discarded denim fabric from a nearby sewing factory close to the artist's studio. ● Denim, the revolutionary product of the man-made industrial society, seeks to rediscover the essence of nature through grinding, attaching, and layering. The surface of the denim, shaped by the artist's deliberate actions, evokes the untouched exterior of nature. ● We hope you enjoy the moment of recalling the warm spring that comes through the nature that resides within the Hanok buildings. ■ Samgaksan Geumam Art Museum
