영혼의 색 The color of the soul

색채는 심리적 효과, 감정, 심리현상, 공감각에 이르기까지 많은 속성들이 내재되어 있다. 이러한 의미로 작품에서 될 수 있는 한 구체적인 묘사를 배제하고 색채에 많은 비중을 두고 있다. 무엇보다 공간의 표현을 단순화한 것은 공간이란 때로는 사물보다 공간이 느끼게 해 주는 슬픔과 공허함이 더 크기 때문이다. ● 작품에서 드러나는 색채는 무채색 유채색등 많은 색이 혼합되어 나타난 것이다. 과거와 현재와 미래가 혼재되어 '지금'을 의미한다. 현실은 그 어떤 이상이나 초현실보다 강하다. 이 과정에서 먼저색이 드러나기도 묻히기도 하면서 끊임없이 그 공간에서 벌어지는 미세한 공기의 흐름을 쫓아가려 한다. 그것의 의미는 색을 통하여 이상을 실현하고자 하는 나의 강한 의지에서 비롯된다.

그러나 가장 중요한 것은 눈에 보이지 않는다. 그래서 수없이 반복적으로 미세한 차이의 색을 올려가며 무언가 보일듯한 그 세계에 도달하려 안간힘을 써보지만 쫒으면 쫒을수록 멀어진다. 이러 한때 모든 것을 내려놓고 관망하지 않으면 숨조차 쉴 수 없다. 한 개인의 지독한 감성에서 벗어나 차츰 관조적으로 바라볼 때 자신을 둘러싸고 있는 막을 뚫고 깨어난다. 살아있는 것이다! 작품 속에 등장하고 있는 인물들은 '이것'의 실체이다. ● 생각은 생각의 꼬리를 물고 때로는 사실을 왜곡시킨다. 그러나 색은 가식이 없다. 그냥 마음을 던지는 것이다. 앞서지도 급하지도 않아야 색이 보인다. 그 감각이 자유로울 때 비로소 영혼의 휴식을 얻는다. ■ 정유진

Colors encompass many attributes ranging from psychological effects, emotions, and mental phenomena to sensory perception. In this sense, emphasizing colors without excluding as much concrete description as possible in the work is prioritized. Above all. simplifying the representation of space is because sometimes the emotions of sadness and emptiness evoked by space are greater than those of objects. ● The colors revealed in the artwork are a mixture of many colors. Including achromatic and chromatic ones. They represent the past, present, and future intermingled, signifying the 'now.' Reality is stronger than any ideal or surreal. In this process, while sometimes primary colors emerge and are either revealed or buried, there is a constant pursuit of the subtle flow of air within that space. Its significance stems from my strong will to realize Ideals through color. ● However, the most important thing is invisible. Striving to reach a world where something becomes visible by repeatedly applying subtle differences in color, but the more pursues, the farther away it becomes. Only when everything is set aside and observed can one even breathe. Breaking free from one's intense sensibilities and gradually observing things with detachment, one awakens beyond the barriers surrounding oneself. It's alive! The characters appearing in the artwork are the substance of 'this.' ● Thoughts loop back and sometimes distort reality. However, colors are what throw the heart. Colors are only visible when not rushed or forced. It's only when that sensation is liberated that the soul finds rest. ■ Jung Youjin
