Time - 인스턴트 Instant

Time-인스턴트(2007)는 시간의 흐름에 대한 변모, 상징을 보이는 연작이다. 흔히 접하는 편의점 음식의 "죽음-부패-탄생"을 사진매체로 표현하였다.

" (...) 어릴적 자주 먹었던 인스턴트 식품을 보고 "죽음"을 느꼈던 순간은 2007년 7월 한여름이었다. 동네 편의점에서 포장된 햄버거를 먹으면서 머릿속을 스쳐간 생각은 "포장지를 뜯는 순간 그 속의 내용물은 실온의 공기와 접촉하게 되고 결국 죽음을 맞이하게 되면서 부패가 진행 되겠구나" 였다. 배고파서 평소처럼 먹었던 인스턴트 식품의 "죽음과 부패"에 흥미를 느끼게 되었고, 시간의 흐름이 주는 변모된 모습과 그 속에서 나타나는 새로운 세계를 사진으로 표현해 보고자 작업을 시작하게 되었다. (...) 4개월의 제작기간이 소요되였고, 피사체의 부패정도는 포장을 벗기고 4주~6주의 시간이 지난 후이다. 인스턴트 식품이 부패되는 모습을 보기란 생각보다 쉽지 않았다. 인스턴트식품 중 육류종류같은 경우에는 실외에 방치한지 5일만에 부패가 되는 모습이 보였지만, 다른 종류는 심한 방부제 처리로 인하여 여름날 실외에 2주간 방치를 해도 부패가되지 않고 마르기만 하였다. 부패된 모습과, 처음 맡은 냄새, 구데기의 성장, 개미들의 식량보급소가 되는 모습은 신선한 충격이였다. 시간이 지날수록 다채롭게 탄생하는 모습은 생명의 경이감을 느끼게 하였다. 설치작품 "생명(2023)" 은 혼합매체로 "탄생, 삶, 죽음, 무지개다리"를 표현하였다.

뽀미얼옹=이채원 ● 사진가, 예술인이다. 백년의 시간이 지난 뒤에 보아도 "괜찮다, 매력적이다, 끌린다, 소장하고 싶은" 예술작업을 한다. 주 작업매체는 사진이며, 다양한 매체로 작업 및 확장한다. 서울 출생, 성장. 대학에서 사진예술(순수)을 전공하였다. 대학의 창의적 예술작업을 배우는 과정은 신선하고 갈망했던 깨우침이었다. 행복함을 느꼈다. 이때 사진가, 예술인으로 살아가기를 다짐하였다. -생계, 사회경험, 관심분야 학업, 다양한 사람, 다양한 직업, 종교, 낭만, 지식, 희노애락- 삶, 작품제작의 밑거름과 깊이를 얻고자 하였다. 고단하고 소중한 시간. 관심분야는 동물, 환경, 음식, 사회로 무궁무진하다. 하루 중 스치는 아이디어는 설레이고 소중하다. 사진디자인 석사과정 중. ■ 뽀미얼옹 이채원

Time-Instant (2007) is a series that shows transformation and symbolism through the passage of time. The "death-decay-birth" of commonly encountered convenience store food was expressed through photographic media. ● " (...) Instant foods that I often ate as a child. The moment I felt "death" was one day in July 2007. While eating a packaged hamburger at a local convenience store, she thought, "The moment I open the package, the contents come into contact with room temperature air, and eventually they will die and begin to decompose." She ate because she was hungry and became interested in the "death and decay" of convenience foods. She began working to express through photography the appearance transformed by the passage of time and the new world that emerges within it. (...) It took 4 months to produce, and the degree of decomposition of the subject was 4 to 6 weeks after unpacking. Watching instant food spoil was not as easy as expected. Among instant foods, meat types were shown to spoil after 5 days of being left outdoors, but other types of foods are treated with heavy preservatives and do not spoil even if left outdoors for 2 weeks in the summer and only dry out. It was a refreshing shock to see the decomposition, the first smell, the growth of bugs, and the sight of it becoming a food supply station for ants. As time passed, the diverse forms of birth made me feel the wonder of life. (...)" (From work notes)
