02 ● 서울의 25개 자치구의 풍경을 촬영하여 각 구별로 가장 많이 보이는 색 10~20개 정도를 1차 선정

04 ● 서울의 색을 추출하면서 동시에 서울의 상징인 해치를 직선, 사선, 원 등의 기하학적인 패턴을 기반으로 재해석하는 작업을 진행

05 ● 재해석 작업은 주로 광화문의 해치상과 민화의 해치를 참고하여 진행

『그래픽 레코드 01_서울』을 진행하면서, 나의 작업행위가 단순히 서울의 각 구를 돌며 찍은 컬러 사진에서 색을 추출하여 패턴을 완성하는 그래픽 작업을 넘어, 서울이라는 공간을 조형적으로 기록하고 있다는 것을 깨닫게 되었다. 2023년 6, 7, 8월의 서울은 참으로 초록 초록하였고, 푸른색과 흰색이 넘쳤고, 해가 진 후에 보여주는 서울 하늘의 붉음은 벅찬 감동으로 다가왔다. 서울의 겨울은 또 다른 색을 보여줄 것이며, 봄과 가을 또한 다를 것이다. ■ 계정권

01 ● Worked with the theme of the "Colors of Seoul" from June to September 2023.

02 ● Traveled to each of Seoul's 25 autonomous districts to take photos of their landscapes. Extracted the most common colors from each district.

03 ● Selected the final 25 colors of Seoul by adjusting them to avoid overlap with those of other districts.

04 ● Reinterpreted Seoul's iconic "Haechi" using geometric patterns like straight lines, diagonal lines, and circles.

05 ● Reinterpreted the Haechi based on both the Haechi statue in front of the Gwanghwamun Gate and the Haechis depicted in folk paintings.

06 ● Applied the 25 colors of Seoul to the reinterpreted Haechi patterns, completing the GRAPHIC RECORD 01_SEOUL. ■ SKY PLAZA GALLERY

While working on GRAPHIC RECORD 01_SEOUL, I realized that my work wasn't merely a graphic endeavor of extracting colors from district photographs. It also served as a formative record of the city's space. The summer of 2023 in Seoul was lush with greens, blues, and whites, while the crimson hues of the Seoul sky after sunset were overwhelming. Seoul's winter will display different colors, and spring and fall will bring their unique palettes. ■ GAISONQUON
