RUR'U' X N ● 3X3X3 큐브를 돌려본 적 있으십니까? 방년 32세, 장난감 백화점에서 루빅스 큐브를 처음으로 사 보았습니다. 이 큐브라는 물건으로 인해, 제 인생도 180° 달라지게 되었습니다. 왜일까요? 겨우 12000원짜리 장난감일 뿐인데 말이죠. ● 사실, 사람의 가슴을 움직이는 물건에는 약속, 언어, 역할, 경험, 그로 인한 감정이 섞여 있습니다. 저에게 이 큐브라는 물건은 어린 시절, 꼭 갖고 싶었던 장난감이었습니다. 뽑기 기계에서 3번의 시도 끝에 성공한 소중한 물건이었답니다. 그렇게 소중했던 큐브를 돌려 보았지만 잘 돌아가지 않아 결국 부서지고 말았습니다. 다시 시도하고 싶었지만 남아있는 돈은 없었죠. ● 이렇듯, 모든 사람에게는 무엇을 떠올리게 하는 물건이 있고, 그로 인한 다양한 감정이 우리 삶의 원동력이 됩니다.

전시명 RUR'U' 속에는 이러한 추억에 대한 이야기가 들어 있습니다. 큐브를 RUR'U', 한쪽 방향으로 6번 돌리게 되면 큐브는 다시 원상복구됩니다. 큐브를 맞추기 어려운 사람도 RUR'U'를 통해 자신감을 가질 수 있습니다. ● 저는 이번 전시를 통해, 많은 사람들이 어린 시절을 회상했으면 합니다. 요즈음은 유튜브 댓글만 보아도 서로를 비난하는 덧글로 힐난하는 것을 자주 목격할 수 있습니다. 거친 사회의 풍랑을 겪으며 세모같이 꺾였을 우리들의 마음도 RUR'U' X N으로 각자 N 번씩 돌려, 원상복구 시키면 어떨까요?

인간의 분노는 15분이면 사라진다? ● 세상을 살아가며, 미움 받는 것은 어찌할 도리가 없지만, 미워하지 않는 것은 선택사항이 아닐까요? 미워하지 않으려 노력해도 미워지는 사람은 어떻게 하냐구요? 그럴 땐, 가장 좋아하는 것을 해보세요. 저는 가만히 누워 큐브를 돌리며 여러 가지 상상을 합니다. 내가 고민하는 것, 내가 상상하는 것, 앞으로 이루고자 하는 것. 큐브가 완성되며 복잡했던 마음은 차분함으로 돌아와요.

RUR'U' X N ● Have you ever spun a 3X3X3 cube? When I was 32 years old, I bought my first Rubik's Cube in a toy department store. It changed my life 180 degrees. Why? ● In fact, the objects that touch our hearts are a mix of promises, language, roles, experiences, and the emotions that come with them. For me, this cube was the toy I wanted to own as a child. ● I tried to spin my precious cube, which was successful after three tries on the spinning machine, but it didn't work out and ended up breaking. I wanted to try again, but I didn't have any money left. ● As you can see, we all have objects that remind us of something, and the different emotions that come with them drive our lives. ● The name of the exhibition, RUR'U', tells the story of these memories. Turn the cube six times in one direction, and it's back to normal. The simple formula of "RUR'U" can help even those who struggle with cubes feel more confident with RUR'U'. ● I hope this article will make many of you reminisce about your childhood. These days, you only have to look at YouTube comments to see people tearing each other down with demeaning comments. Why don't we turn our hearts from being like triangles in a harsh society into circles through this exhibition? ● Human anger dissipates in 15 minutes? ● In this world, you can't help but be hated, but isn't not hating an option? What do you do with someone you hate even when you try not to? In that case, you do what you like best. I lie still, spin the cube, and imagine all sorts of things: what I'm struggling with, what I envision, what I hope to accomplish in the future. As the cube is completed, my chaotic mind returns to calm. ● Think it's too late? ● If you think it's too late, it really is too late, so start now. It's okay if you're a little slow.
