올해로 열세번째를 맞는 『바다 - 생각하는 것 보여지는 것』 라는 전시주제로 여수세계박람회장 D1, D2, D3, D4등 총 4개 관에서 약 10개국의 77명의 작가가 대규모로 현대미술을 총망라한 모든 장르(회화, 입체, 영상, 설치, 서예 등)의 작품을 전시할 계획이다. ● 전시의 주제 [바다-생각하는 것 보여지는 것] 우리는 개념과 인식 사이의 복잡한 상호작용을 탐구하면서, 예술을 통한 자연의 철학적이고 미적인 탐구에 몰입합니다. 우리가 예술, 자연, 그리고 인간 정신 사이의 끊임없이 진화하는 관계를 탐색하면서 현실 속에서 우리의 위치에 대한 위안, 영감, 그리고 더 깊은 자연의 이해를 찾아 보고자 이번 전시회의 주제로 선정. ●  현대적이고 독창적, 개성 있는 작품을 접하는 전시 구성을 목표로 전국의 명망 있는 작가들의 초대로 이뤄진 이번 전시는 새로운 예술 문화에 걸맞게 시대의 흐름을 선도하는 대표적인 전시가 될 것이다. ● 여수국제미술제 홈페이지(www.yiaf.co.kr), 사무실(061-659-4972)로 문의하면 된다.
