이 전시는 탈 식민주의적 관점을 통해 동시대를 바라보고, 앞으로 다가올 미래를 가늠할 수 있는 비판적인 시각에서 출발 한다. 3편의 스톱모션을 이용한 영상작업들과 디오라마 작업은 자본주의 시스템에 의해 이루어지는 불평등과 차별에 주목한다. 작가는 우리 사회 전반에 만연한, 자본주의 구조에서 발생하는 노동력의 착취, 축적한 자본을 통한 문화의 침투, 그에 따른 혼종성을 은유적으로 보여준다. 또한 오늘날 발생하고 있는 코로나에 의해 급속도로 변화하는 산업구조의 부산물 또는 피해의 상징으로 대표될 수 있는 빈 상가에서 작가의 관점을 관객들과 공유하려 한다. ■ 김선열

This exhibition starts from a critical perspective that can look at the contemporary era through a postcolonial perspective and gauge the future to come. The works using three stop motions and the diorama work pay attention to inequality and discrimination made by the capitalist system. The artist metaphorically shows the exploitation of the labor force arising from the capitalist structure, the penetration of culture through accumulated capital, and the resulting hybridity in our society. In addition, this exhibition would like to share the perspective with the audience in an empty shop that can be represented by by-product or symbol of the damage from industrial structure rapidly changing by the covid-19 that is occurring today. ■ KIMSUNYOUL
