Life still goes on

일상의 장면을 포착해 상상을 더한 작업을 하고 있다. 너무나도 거대해지고 물질로 뒤덮여진 도시는 말랑말랑한 인간의 감성과 연약한 신체를 우울하고 위험하게 만든다. 발달된 소셜 네트워크나 통신은 끔찍한 사건사고를 적나라하게 보여주어 인간의 감정은 피폐해지고, 일상을 가로막는 바이러스로 두려움은 커진다. 그럼에도 우리는 살아 숨쉬는 생명체이고 흔들림없이 하루하루를 살아나가야 한다. 일상의 평온한순간에 상상을 더해 각박하고 숨막히는 일상에서 쉼을 느끼고 싶다. 보는 이들에게도 잠시나마 환기가 되는 시간이면 좋겠다. ■ 이하목

People just say that 'ordinary' isn't special and means boring. When I draw ordinary people as the subject of my work, I realize that our daily life is the most beautiful and special thing. I draw contemporary people and phenomena in addition to my imagination. I'd like to paint a scene from our daily life like a dream: they are not harsh.
