신은정 회화의 표면은 미니멀리즘 페인팅을 연상시키지만, 그것과 종류를 달리한다. 다가가 자세히 바라보면, 작품으로 다가서면 같은 모양으로 촘촘하게 붙은 종이 조각과 잘려나간 종이 틈으로 패널이 드러난다. 세계는 보이는 것이 전부가 아니다. 세계는 각자의 프레임으로 해석 될 뿐이다. 신은정은 반복된 작업의 노동과 우연과 필연의 조합으로 세계상의 '알레고리’를 추상적으로 현시해낸다. 이 점이 놀라운 것이다. 세계는 객관적으로 존재하지만, 실상세계는 나의 주관에 의해서 해석되는 것이다. 세계는 나의 감각과 마음, 그리고 경험이 협조해 만들어낸 총체적 감수성인 것이다. 신은정의 회화는 이토록 신비한, 풀려고 해도 풀리지 않는 세계의 알레고리를 회화로 풀어낸다. ■ 이진명

The surface of Shin Eun-jung's painting is reminiscent of minimalist painting, but different from that. If you approach and look closely at the work, you will see the panel through a piece of paper that is tightly attached in the same shape and a gap in the cut paper. The world is not all we sees. The world can only be interpreted as its own frame. Shin Eun-jeong abstractly embodies the world's "allegory" with a combination of uncountable repeated work and coincidences and inevitability. This is the great point. The world exists objectively, but the real world is interpreted by my own view. The world is the total sensibility created by my sense, mind, and experience in cooperation.
