'22.5M(million)' 인스타그램에 #staysafe가 달린 포스트의 수이다. ● 'Stay home, stay safe(집에 계세요, 건강을 지키세요)'라는 말은 코로나19 사태 이후 전 세계적인 구호이자 인사말이 되었고, 우리는 이런 말을 일상적으로 나눌 정도로 긴 시간 이 바이러스와 싸우고 있다. 지난한 6개월이었지만, "우리는 방법을 찾을 것이다, 늘 그랬듯이." 라는 영화 대사처럼 우리는 또 그런대로 방법을 찾고, 이 시대에 적응해가고 있다. ● 코로나19 사태로 인한 오랜 휴관을 끝내고, 마침내 오픈하는 이번 『#staysafe_나는 네가 행복했으면 해』展에서는 '건강해, 잘 지내'라는 서로를 위한 따뜻한 인사말처럼 작품을 통해 위로와 행복을 전하는 신형록 작가의 작품이 선보인다.

신형록 작가는 출세와 풍요를 상징하는 물고기와 행운의 상징인 클로버를 사실적으로 표현한 작품으로 국내외 아트페어에서 주목을 받아왔다. 그의 작업은 투명한 에폭시 레진 위에 아크릴 물감으로 그림을 그리고, 그 위에 다시 레진을 부어 굳힌 후 그림을 그려 넣는 것이 반복되는 방식으로 이루어진다. 이렇게 여러 겹의 그림 층들이 합쳐지면서 하나의 형태를 이루며, 평면적이면서 동시에 입체적인 작품으로 탄생한다.

It's been almost six months, but like the movie line, "We'll find a way, as always," we're finding a way and adapting to this era. ● After a long closure due to the COVID 19 incident, the exhibition 『#staysafe_I want you to be happy』 will feature works by Shin Hyung Loc, who delivers comfort and happiness through his work, just like a warm greeting for each other, "Stay healthy, stay well." ● Shin Hyung Loc has drawn attention at both domestic and foreign art fairs for his realistic portrayal of fish symbolizing success and abundance, and clover, a symbol of good fortune. His work is done in a process that drawing with acrylic paint on a transparent epoxy resin, and then pouring the resin back on it, solidifying it, and then painting it is repeated. These layers of paintings combine to a single form, creating a flat and three-dimensional work. ● Despite the fact that the work requires a lot of time and labor, Shin not only expresses nature very realistically with his unique sincerity and tenacity, but also captures the warm gaze of nature in the work. He says to himself and repeats, "I'm a happy person," especially when he paints a clover. This may be because he is well aware that the artist's emotions and energy when he works are conveyed intact to the audience through his work. ● It's such a pleasure to have someone by one's side who desperately wishes for one's happiness, saying, "stay healthy" and "take care," although including summer vacation, nothing did go as planned due to the COVID 19 incident.
