부산국제비디오아트페스티발

부산국제비디오아트페스티발은 영상예술의 활성화를 위해 2004년부터 진행해온 행사로, 부산 대안공간 반디에 의해 2007년까지 개최되었고 이후 독립적인 단체로 출범하여 2014년 11회까지 개최되었습니다. 2017년 2년간의 공백을 끊고, 영상예술의 저변확대와 활성화를 목적으로 다시 진행하고 있습니다. ● 부산국제비디오아트페스티발은 작품 공모를 통해 실험적이고 창조적인 영상예술 작가들을 지원하며 영상예술의 저변을 넓히는데 목적이 있습니다. 공모를 통해 선정된 작품뿐만 아니라 전문적인 큐레이션을 통해 국내외 영상예술작품을 초청하여 상영함으로써 국내외 동시대 영상예술의 흐름과 지형을 파악할 수 있도록 전시를 구성하고자 합니다.

10월, 세계의 어둠을 걷는 자들 ● 1917년 러시아 혁명과 우연히도 100년의 시차를 가지고 작년 말부터 올해까지 우리는 이른바 촛불 혁명이라 불리는 거대한 사건을 경험했다. 광장으로, 거리로 나온 사람들은 더 나은 세상을 요구했고, 관성적으로 움직이던 시스템을 잠시나마 정지시켰으며 대통령 탄핵이라는 소기의 목적을 달성했다. ● 우리는 짧은 시간 동안 새로운 세상을 향한 빛을 보았다. 하지만 세계의 어둠이 여전히 짙다. 다수의 노동자들의 처지가 그러하고, 우리들의 삶 역시 그러하다. 잠시 꿈틀거리던 세상은 다시 급격하게 제자리를 찾아가고 있다. 어쩌면 우리는 방향을 잃은 채로 한걸음도 나아가지 못한 것일지도 모른다. 이번 기획은 이처럼 여전히 어둠 속을 걷고 있는 사람들에 대한 이야기이다. ■ 부산국제비디오아트페스티발

Busan International Video Art Festival(B.I.V.A.F) has been held since 2004 for the purpose of revitalizing video-artfield. Having been held by "Ban-di", an alternative space in Busan, from 2004 to 2007, Busan International Video Art Festival was launched as an independent bodyin 2007, constantly holding the annual festival until 2014. Breaking a 2-yearperiod of blank in 2017, Busan International Video Art Festival has revived again,taking a significant role in enlarging and invigorating video art. ● By conducting submission from all over the world, Busan International Video Art Festival aims to support creative and experimental video-art artists, as well as to expand the base for this field ofart. Furthermore, in order to grasp the latest trend of contemporary video artin and out of Korea, BIVAF is planning to organize exhibition not only with selectedworks, but also with works invited from professional curating procedure.

October, The Peoplr walking in DARKNESS ● Having interval of 100years with the 1917 Russian Revolution, from the end of last year to this year, we had a serious event in our lives named as candlelight revolution. ● People flooded out to squares and streets demanding for a better world, ceasing the unchanging system for a while. The result of it was the impeachment of president, the intended goal. We had a glimpse of light towards the brand new world, however the thick darkness still remains. The situation majority of laborers face is and we face is. The world which once screamed for change is quickly turning back to where it was. Maybe we didn't go forward at all, not sure of the direction to head. This project is the report on the people still walking in darkness. ■ Busan International Video Art Festival(B.I.V.A.F)
