「무릉도원」 은 신체의 부분이 나타내는 사회적 언어들을 탐구하고 그것들이 변형되고 재구성 되었을 때 만들어지는 관계의 확장성에 대한 작업이다. 크고 작은 전쟁으로 혼란한 시대에 엉덩이가 우리를 하나로 결속시킬 수 있을지에 대한 질문으로 시작한 이 작업은 중국의 '도원경'에서 표현 된 유토피아에서 폴 프레시아의 'Terror Anal'에서 표현 된 포스트젠더 시대의 기관으로서의 항문에 이르기까지 주관적인 그리고 자유로운 항문의 잠재력에 대한 내용이다. 특히, 항문이 가지고 있는 퀴어와 페미니즘의 상징적 의미에 관해 연구하였는데 섹스와 젠더와 상관 없이 모두를 대변하는 민주주의적 상징, 우리 모두가 경험했던 공공의 기쁨의 섹슈얼 공산주의적 상징, 뒤에서 그리고 아래에서 이동하는 권력의 유동성 등 항문이 가진 다양한 상징적 의미를 탐구하였다. 성적으로 중립적인 신체 이미지와 일상의 오브제를 통해 판타지적인 공간을 시각적으로 표현하였다. "The Peach Blossom Land," is a study of how relationships, represented by parts of the body, trans-form and restructure the context of the social and language. It is a work which started out as a ques-tion about whether the butt has the political potential to re-bind us together in a time of confusion with big and small wars. It is a work expressing the subjective and liberating potential of the anus, from the utopia represented in the Chinese story 'The Peach Blossom Spring' to Paul B. Preciado's seminal book, 'Terror Anal', about the anus as a post-gendered organ. In particular, I studied the symbolic meaning of queer and feminism that anal has, which is a democratic symbol representing all regardless of sex and gender, the sexual communist symbol of the public joy that we all experi-enced, the symbol of the liquidity of power from behind and from below and and the various sym-bolic meanings of the anus. The work is visualised a fantasy space through sexually neutral body images and daily objects. (2017) ■ Dew Kim
