최저임금, 비정규직, 노오력, 학자금, 취준생, 알바, 스펙, 열정, 흙수저, N포세대…. ● 우리의 모습은 이렇게 요약된다. 교육에서 노동으로 진입하는 세대. 그들은 학생도 아니고 노동자도 아닌, 사회적 위치로서 인정받지도 못한 청년들이다. 그들의 삶과 노동 모습을 담았다. 관심이나 영향이 미치지 못하는 구역. 지금 우리의 현 위치이다.

『사각지대』展은 농구장 풍경 시리즈와 청년들의 모습을 담은 작업으로 구성되어 있다. ● 청년의 삶 시리즈는 편의점 음식으로 식사를 때우고, 허겁지겁 아르바이트 복을 차려입고, 퇴근 후 스펙을 쌓으러 학원에 가는 그들의 하루 일과를 담았다. ● 농구장 시리즈는 학생들이 없는 텅 빈 농구장이 천천히 희미하게 사라지고 있는 풍경을 담은 작업이다. 땀 흘리며 놀던 시절의 꿈들이 사라지고 있다. 청년들은 취업준비를 하기 위해 농구장에 발길을 끊었다. 텅 빈 농구장은 청년들의 바쁜 삶을 은유적으로 나타내고 있다. 이미지를 지우는 행위의 끝은 다시 출발이라는 의미로 그림을 지워보았다. 지우는 행위를 통해 꿈꾸었던 시절의 꿈속으로 돌아가는 의미이다. ■ 나수민

Minimum wages, temporary employment, 'effort to the next level', tuition debt, job seekers, part-time jobs, specs for employment, passion, plastic spoons, 'The Generation that gives up basic social expectations'… ● these words summarize our current state. A generation entering the labor market after education. They are neither students nor workers, but young individuals who are yet to be granted proper social status. The exhibition capture their lives and labor scenes. A place where attention from society is insufficiently given and influence does not reach: This is our current location. ● 『Blind Spot』 exhibition is composed of young individuals and basketball courts. The 'Life of the Youth' series is composed by daily scenes of young people who fill themselves with convenience store food, rush to get dressed, and head off to academies after finishing work. ● The 'Basketball Courts' series is a work which features an empty basketball court, void of students, that is slowly fading away. Dreams from one's youthful age of playing tag are also fading away. Young people stopped off at the basketball court to prepare for employment. An empty basketball court is a metaphor for the busy life of young people. As the meaning that the aftermath of erasing images symbolizes a new beginning, the picture were erased purposely erased. The act of wiping away the images symbolically means returning to the past dreams of once hopeful days. ■ sumin-Na
