전시는 다른 나라에서 온 세 명의 작가들로 이루어진다. 다른 경험 다른 문화로 인해 그들은 각기 다른 창조 행위와 동기에 대한 각기 다른 관점과 인식을 갖게 되었다. 그래서 그들의 연구 방향 또한 똑같을 수 없으며 그들의 작품은 서로 관련 없는 평행선처럼 보인다. 어찌되었건 그들은 작품 전시를 위해 한데 모였고, 우리는 그들이 어떻게 이 세계를 바라보고, 어떻게 그에 반응하는지를 볼 수 있게 되었다. 그들이 같은 세대의 작가들로써 미묘하게 공통점을 공유하는 바, 그 점이 바로 평행선을 가로지르는 것이라고 볼 수 있는 것이다. ■ 아트스페이스 오

햇빛을 쪼여서 만든 작품, 「자서전」은 사회적 개인으로서의 나를 좀 더 합리적인 방법으로 정의 내리고자 한 것이다. 내 작품은 나에게 붙어 다니는 일반적인 꼬리표를 다 떼버리고 쌀이나 설탕, 약, 또는 차와 같이 내가 매일 먹는 것들의 흔적, 심지어는 내 몸의 흔적까지 담아냄으로써 나 자신을 정의하는 것이다. 이들은 내가 특정 장소에서 경험한 것들을 품고 있는 것이어서, 우리가 누구이며 우리가 얼마나 비슷한 지에 대해서 많은 것을 시사해 준다. ● 내 작품의 제작 과정은 청사진 인화 방식으로서 햇빛을 이용하여 청록색으로 인쇄하는 사진의 한 기법이다. 하지만 나는 오브제들을 신문 편집하는 형식으로 배열함으로써 나의 기억 모음에 대한 상징으로 쓴다. 그것이 내 작품을 「자서전」이라고 명명하는 이유이다. ■ 유단

예술가는 끊임없이 정신적 낙원을 추구하고, 받아들여 그들의 사고와 작업 속에서 그것의 창조적 가능성을 실험하려 하지만 거기에는 항상 그에 반하는 현실적 제약들이 있다. 따라서 우리 예술가들 각자는 자기만의 유일한 가시적 형식을 구축하여 수행 체제 안에서 힘차게 소리를 드높인다. 그곳에서 예술가들은 실재와 비(非)실재라는 두 가지 서로 다른 관념을 제시하려 한다. ● 수행제제는 일차전시(비공식적 공간), 이차전시(공적 공간), 가상전시(컴퓨터/비디오 게임) 등의 세 부분으로 이루어지며, 실재적 시공간과 비실재적 시공간에서 이루어지는 대화에 참여하는 각기 다른 세 가지 방식을 나타내는 작품들을 보여준다. 이 체제는 융통성 있고 유연한 것이어서 작가의 작품에 고유의 표현 방법을 제공하기도 하고 관객들에게 특별한 느낌을 전달하기도 한다. 「빛 그림자」의 개념 ● 교차영역의 창조자들에 있어서 교차행동은 새로운 경험에서 얻는 만족감 뿐 만 아니라 먼지처럼 하찮은 것에 대한 외롭고도 초라한 인식을 동반하기도 한다. 그래서 이들 복잡하고도 애매한 감정들에 의해 예술작품은 어떤 신비스럽고도 강력한 힘으로 충만하게 된다. 창조자들이 자기폐쇄적인 부정적 정서가 아니라, 창조적 생산을 향한 열정에 불을 지피는 일종의 정신적 구원을 유지하도록 하는 것이 바로 이러한 힘이다. 자신을 먼지 같은 존재라 부르는 창조자들과 그들 예술작품과의 관계에는 살아 숨쉬는 거친 직물 같은 일면이 있다. 그것은 관객의 가슴에 일련의 강력한 화학적 반응을 불러일으킬 뿐 아니라 그들 자신에게도 특유의 심오한 정신적 울림을 가져다 준다. ■ 호 레이슬러

이미지의 장면들은 자꾸 반복해서 나타난다. 이미지들은 흔들의자에 앉아있는 인물로, 깜박이는 한쪽 눈으로, 저 혼자 흔들리는 그네로, 붕괴되는 건물로, 그리고 파도에 삼켜지는 한 남자로, 마치 백일몽처럼 장면에서 장면으로 변해 간다. 불안한 느낌은 현실과 상상이 뒤섞인 이미지들을 자극한다. 땅속에서 마그마가 분출 하려듯이 불안은 모든 이의 마음 속에 내재해 있다. 이 작품은 불안정한 사회와 개인을 보여주는 것이다. 개인들은 불행한 사회가 만들어내는 위기에 찬 조건 속에서 떨고 있는 것처럼 보인다. 사람들은 더없이 잔인한 폭력과 인재(人災)와 비이성적 사회로부터 불안함을 느끼지만, 그럼에도 그들은 만연한 불안감을 받아들이고 그것에 무감각 해진다. 이상하고도 놀라운 것은, 공감 능력이 무뎌지면서 일상 생활이 마치 아무 일도 없었다는 것처럼 지나가 버린다는 것이다. 나는 불안에 익숙해지는 것을 멈추기 위해서 이 끔찍한 현실을 바라보고 기록한다. ■ 장유진

The exhibition shows three young artists whose from different countries; different experiences and cultures make them have different perspectives and perceptions on their creative production and motivation, and also the research direction for them is not nearly the same as well; their works seem like parallel lines irrelevantly. However, the exhibition has brought them together to show their works; we can see how they thought about the world, and how they respond to it. From the same generation they have something in common, subtly, that could be considered as an interaction of parallel lines. ■

Made by sunbathing, Autobiography is trying to define me as a social individual in a more reasonable way. Getting rid of the limits of those common tags, my work defines myself by capturing the trace of the objects I eat every day, such like rice, sugar, medicine, tea bags even my body. These objects embody the experience I had in the certain place and tell so much more about who and how similar we are. ● The technical process of my work is Cyanotype prints, which is a photographic process that using the sunlight to produce a cyan-blue print. Besides, I arranged the objects into the format of the newspaper, which I took as a symbol of collective memory. that is the reason why I am calling my work Autobiography. ■ Dan Yu

Pursuit and embracing a spiritual utopia, artists persist in exploring the creative into their thinking and practice even though it is a challenge; besides, there are some realistic factors against them. Therefore, we constructed a unique demonstrated form for independent artists in which artists would amplify the power of their sounds in this performance system, where they would exhibit the notion of their creation at two different dimensions - an entity and a non-entity. ● The performance system is comprised of three sections - first exhibition( illegal space), duplicate exhibition (right space) and virtual exhibition (computer/video game), presenting works of three different type demonstrate ways to engaging a dialogue which between an entitative and a non-entitative of space-time. This system is flexible rather than rigidly which giving a unique demonstration way to the work of artist and trying to transmit a particular sensation toward an audience.

The concept about 'Silhouette of illumination' ● For cross-domain creators, Cross-behavior is not only accompanied by a satisfaction which gaining from a new experience, and also often bring on solitary and humble of perception like lowly as dust; therefore, these complicated and blurry emotions make their artworks fill with some kind of mysterious and intense strength. It is these forces make creator to obtain some sort of spiritual redemption which lighting an intense passion for creative production rather not bring a self-enclosure negative emotion. Creators who called themselves like dust, the connection between them and their artworks have some sort of living and rough textile; it not only cause a series of intense chemical reaction in the heart of the audiences, and also bringing a unique and deeper resonance of spirit to them. ■ Racelar Ho

Scenes in the image repeat again and again. Image changes from scene to scene to a shape sitting on a rocking chair, one-eye blinking, swing swaying itself, building collapsing, and a man swallowed by wave like in a daydream. Anxious feeling motivates the Image, blend of reality and imagination. As a magma boiling underneath the ground waiting to erupt, anxiety is inhere in the mind of every one of us. This work demonstrates the instability of society and individual; as individuals seem to be shaking in a risky condition by disturbed society. People feel uneasiness from intensified cruelty of violence, disaster caused by human, irrationalities of the society, however, they adapt and become insensible to elated anxiety. Becoming dull to the apprehension, strangely and frighteningly, everyday life just passes by as nothing had happen. I record and observe this distressful reality to stop becoming habituated to anxiety. ■ Yoojin Chang
