에스프레소 디자인 ESPRESSO DESIGN

한국국제교류재단과 주한이탈리아문화원 그리고 이탈리아 뮤막 커피머신박물관의 협력으로 전시 『에스프레소 디자인』을 개최합니다. ● 본 전시를 통해 이탈리아 에스프레소 머신에 담긴 기술과 디자인적 발전사를 소개함으로써 이탈리아 커피 문화를 널리 알리고자 합니다. 한국에서도 점차 커피 문화가 일상 속의 중요한 삶의 철학으로 자리 잡아 가고 있기에 이번 전시는 더욱 특별합니다. ● 본 전시는 크게 두 가지 측면, 즉 이탈리아 에스프레소와 디자인을 중점적으로 소개하고자 합니다. 이탈리아의 문화와 라이프스타일의 상징인 에스프레소와 커피 머신이 디자인적으로 발전해 온 과정을 함께 살피면서, 이탈리아 커피문화의 정수를 경험하는 기쁨을 맛보시게 될 것입니다.

특히 이번 전시에서 소개되는 다양한 커피 머신들 중에는 전 세계를 사로잡은, 최초의 이탈리아 에스프레소 커피 머신이 포함되어 있습니다. 관람객들은 20세기 초부터 1980년대에 이르기까지 이탈리아 커피 머신의 기술적, 미적 측면의 진화과정을 따라가게 됩니다. 더불어, 뮤막 커피머신박물관에서 제공한 상징적인 기록물들도 살펴 볼 수 있습니다. 세계에서 가장 유명한 커피 머신으로 손꼽히는 심발리의 '피타고라' 모델은 국제적 디자인 상인 '황금컴퍼스'를 받은 최초의 그리고 유일한 커피 머신이며, 페마 E61모델 또한 에스프레소 커피 머신의 역사를 대표하는 아이콘입니다.

전시를 구성하는 또 한 가지 흥미로운 부분은 바로 오늘날 에스프레소를 둘러싼 풍경을 카메라 프레임에 담아낸 작업입니다. 2016년 기업 프로젝트의 일환으로 페마 브랜드를 주제로 한 작업을 소개한 『익스프레스 유어 아트』 사진전 일부가 이번 전시에 초대되었습니다. 사진작가 아메데오 노벨리, 마테오 발레, 알프레도 비니, 베아트리체 스페란자, 그리고 프란체스코 디 마이오가 오늘날 전 세계 곳곳에서 에스프레소가 소비되는 생생한 모습을 각자의 시선으로 담아 냈습니다. ● 전시장에 준비된 이탈리아 스타일 바에서는 두 종류의 에스프레소 머신 모델, 심발리M100과 페마 E71을 거쳐 탄생한 최상의 에스프레소가 뿜어내는 소리와 색, 향, 그리고 맛을 관람객들이 직접 경험할 수 있도록 준비했습니다. 일상에서 만날 수 있는 최고의 친구, 에스프레소 한 잔이 주는 여유를 KF 갤러리에서 만나시기를 기대합니다. ■ KF 갤러리

The ESPRESSO DESIGN exhibition, promoted jointly by the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul and the Korea Foundation, with the support of MUMAC, the Cimbali Group's Coffee Machine Museum, aims at spreading Italian coffee culture through the technology and design evolution of Italian espresso coffee machines. Significantly, the exhibition takes place in Korea, a country where drinking coffee has gradually become a real life philosophy. ● The exhibition pivots on two essential elements, Italian espresso and design, which will attract visitors already familiar with them as parts of Italian culture and lifestyle. They will be delighted to explore Italian coffee culture through the design evolution of the coffee machines which have become part of the history of this industrial sector that is typically made in Italy. ● The joint exhibition by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Korea Foundation, with the technical contribution of MUMAC and the Cimbali Group, provides an overview of Italian coffee culture. Among the wide range of coffee machines on display, visitors will find the very first espresso coffee machines, which, starting from Italy, went on to conquer the world. ● Visitors will follow the technological and aesthetic transformations these machines have undergone from the start of the 20th century to the 1980s, and be able to view a series of iconic documents from the MUMAC historic archive. One of the group's models, the famous La Cimbali Pitagora, is the first and only coffee machine to have won the Compasso d'Oro Award, whereas the Faema E61 is certainly the most iconic machine in the history of espresso coffee machines. ● Another very attractive feature of the exhibition is a collection of photographs, focusing on today's espresso world. They were created by artists involved in last year's corporate project to honor Faema's brand promise, "Express your Art", through the art of photography. The Korean exhibition's visitors will have the chance to admire works by Amedeo Novelli, Matteo Valle, Alfredo Bini, Beatrice Speranza, and Alfredo Di Maio, who, from different perspectives, show places from around the world where espresso is consumed nowadays. ● At the end of the exhibition, visitors will be able to enjoy the real sounds, colors, aromas, and flavors of a perfect espresso, prepared on two state of the art espresso coffee machines, the LaCimbali M100 and the Faema E71. ■ KF Gallery
