예술적 생존법 연구

'예술적 생존법 연구'는 예술가들의 생존법이 아니라, 누구나 예술적으로 삶을 영위하면서 일상의 소소한 행복을 만끽할 수 있는 방법을 모색해보기 위해 기획되었다. 우리는 전 세계적으로 새로운 빈부격차 현상이 나타나고, 신 계급사회가 시작되면서, 자본의 혜택으로부터 철저히 빗겨나간 수많은 이들에게 삶(일상)을 예술적으로 치환할 수 있는 방법을 제시해주기를 원한다. ● 19세기 말 윌리엄 모리스를 중심으로 일어났던 '미술공예운동'이나, 20세기 초 독일 바이마르에서 붐을 일으켰던 '바우하우스'를 비롯해 실생활과 예술의 접점을 찾고 평등한 예술 향유의 기회를 제공하고자 하는 움직임은 많았다. 그리고 지금은 삶 속으로 깊이 들어가 삶 안에 녹아들고, 삶을 위해 기여할 수 있는 현실밀착형 예술이 필요한 때이기도 하다. ● 우리는 '2015 아비뇽페스티벌 오프'에 참여하면서 이 주제를 실험한 바 있었는데, 주변의 온갖 사물(식료품, 식기, 폐기물 등)로 악기를 만들고, 실시간 일어나는 사건을 현장에서 시나리오로 만들어 즉석 연극을 시연하였으며, 노동으로 뭉친 근육을 풀어주는 요가 퍼포먼스 등을 펼친 바 있다. 그리고 보다 구체적이고 실용적인 방식으로 이를 전시화하자는 데 동의하게 되었다. ■ 대안공간 루프

The art project titled "Study on artistic survival methodology" is designed to explore ways of art serving as catalyst for making the world a better place. We want it to suggest how to translate life (ordinary life) into art worldwide for the sake of numerous people who have been thoroughly marginalized from the benefits of capitalism as widening gap between the rich and the poor and unheard class society start to grip the world. ● The world history has seen a number of movements set towards finding a meeting point between real life and art and thereby delivering all people an equal opportunity to enjoy art, including Arts and Crafts Movement, promulgated by William Morris in late 19thcentury,and Bauhaus getting popularin Weimar, Germany, inearly 20th century. Now is the time for artists to infiltrate and get melted into ordinary life and display artworks mirroring reality as it is which we believe may contribute to creating better living conditions for all. ● We, participating in 2015 D'Avignon OFF, experimented with the subject by using a number of objects(such as food, utensil and waste) as musical instrument, spontaneously weaving on-going incidents into a scenario to stage a play on the spot and displaying yoga performance designed to relax muscles getting rigid in the course of paid work under the cause of flashmop. We further moved onto agree that such attempt should be on display in a more concrete and practical way. ■ ALTERNATIVE SPACE LOOP
