Green Link

어떤 풍경 속에 녹색이 포함되었단 사실만으로도 반갑다. 녹색은 생명의 색이다. 물과 흙과 햇빛의 조건만으로 생태계 일차 포식자의 먹이가 되어줄 식물이 자란다. 풍경 속 녹색 점은 생명이 존재할 수 있는 곳이란 지표이다. 소중한 생명이 자본의 논리아래 무너지는 요즘 다시 생명의 귀함을 녹색이라는 상징적인 색과 연결 지어 기획된 전시이다. 자연에 대한 고유한 가치, 생명의 존엄함, 그리고 잠재력, 우리 삶의 선 순환 구조와 순환원리를 거스리지 않는, 지속 가능한 연결을 실험하고자 하는 시도에서 이 전시는 출발한다. 자연과 더불어 살아가는 방식은 단지 희귀한 동 식물이나 버려진 동물들의 생명 이야기가 아니라 그것은 우리가 우리의 삶을 대하는 태도이며 철학인 것이다.

생명을 귀히 여기려면 나만이 아니라 주위의 모든 존재에게도 나름의 몫을 인정해주어야 한다. 내가 돋보이고 내가 주인공이 아닌, 한발 물러서는 작업 형식으로 한 장의 종이에 두 사람이 번갈아 작업했다. 옛 선비들이 글과 그림으로 담소를 나누었듯이 한 장의 그림을 주고받으며 진행된 작업은 서로가 상대의 작업에 변수로 작용하는 재미를 주었다. 정해진 답이 없고, 누구도 완성된 이미지를 예측할 수 없이 진행된 작업은 두 사람 모두 자연에서 모티브를 얻고 드로잉이란 작업양식을 공통점으로 갖고 있기에 가능했다. 자연으로 서로를 연결한다. 바다정원 속에 나무, 나무 안에 대나무, 대나무 위에 바다. 바다위에 새, 새 위에 나무, 생태계의 순환과 같이 서로는 연결되고 순환한다.

이연주 김현수 두 작가의 릴레이 방식으로 이어나간 작업을 통해 자발적이고 자생적인 이미지가 탄생 되고, 이렇게 자연을 모티브로 작업해 오던 두 작가는 "Green" 으로 "Link" 된다. 내 것, 나만 돋보이기보다 상대가 던져준 변수를 기꺼이 재밌어 하며 그에 유연하게 반응하며 함께 완성해 가면서 공존. 공생의 기본 조건은 타자에 대한 열린 마음이란 것을 다시 한번 생각하게 된다. 작품 판매의 수익금 일부를 환경단체에 기부할 예정이다. ■ 이연주_김현수

Happy to see green colour in any scene. Green is the colour of life. The plants that feed primary predators in the ecosystem grow. A green tiny thing in the view is the sign of life. The precious lives have been threatened by the logic of capitalism. This exhibition is planned to share precious life by the link of the green colour, the sign of life. The exhibition starts on the try for durational link of the cycle of our life to values of nature, precious life and their potential. How to live with the nature is the attitude towards our life and the philosophy of life. ● How to consider lives is to acknowledge every share of lives. Yeon-Ju Lee and Hyun-Soo Kim, the two artists work by turns on one paper by considering the share of each other. The work by taking turns a painting gives fun to each other just like communication by sharing their writings and drawings between classical scholars in Korea. This work has no rule and no one anticipates the image on the paper. However, it is possible because the two take a motif from the nature and do their work by drawing. People link up each other with the nature like a tree in the ocean, a bamboo in a tree, the sea on a bamboo, a bird in the ocean, a tree on a bird. Every creature links and circulates like ecosystem. The relay work makes active and spontaneous images. ● The two artists who work with the motif from the nature "Link" by "Green". They do not give importance just to the work of themselves, take each other's work with fun, react flexibly and complete together.
