순환과 창조가 무구히 연속되고 탄생하는 우주, 그리고 자연에 관심을 가진다. 또 매일 뜨고 지는 해의 아름다움에 감탄하고, 반짝이는 별과 차고 기우는 달에 기쁨을 느낀다. 끊임없이 돌아가는 세상, 그 아름다운 되풀이를 관조할 수 있음을 감사한다. 그리고 나의 흔적, 그 순환과 반복을 품은 작품 속 의미를 감상자와 함께 나누기를 소망한다. ■ 조기주

In my works, things can appear as something new through the circulation and repetition of the stains of my life, just as constant circular movements create the universe. In nature, I am happy to enjoy sunrise and sunset. I love to see the twinkling stars in the sky. I feel good when the moon waxes and wanes. There are no trivial things in this beautiful world of endless 'samsara', the eternal cycle of birth, death and rebirth. I thank God that I can enjoy these circulations of nature. Keeping a tight balance between the intentional and the unintentional, I find meaning among meaninglessness. I would like to keep the stains of my life permanently in my mind through showing them in my art as the repetition of birth, death and rebirth. And I also hope to share these things with the viewer. ■ CHOKHEEJOO
