KID_INSECURITY

불안의 사전적 정의는 내면세계와 외부세계의 불일치, 혹은 존재와 인식 사이의 괴리가 예상되거나 자각될 때 야기되는 심리적, 생리적 반응을 총칭하는 개념이라고 한다. 자신에게 위협을 가하는 구체적인 대상이나 명확한 실체 없이도 발생한다는 점에서 단순한 공포와 구분되며, 공포가 인과적이고 경험적이라면 불안은 근본적이고 선험적인 것이라고 할 수 있다. 본 전시에 모인 작가 7명은 불안이라는 주제를 내밀한 개인적 경험을 통하여 이야기하고자 한다. 전시작품들은 가족집단에 대한 불안을 관계불안 존재불안 비교불안으로 설명하고, 한국의 징병제로 야기된 사회적 문제와 흑백논리적인 성 역할에 대한 갈등을 담고 있다. 지금 우리 세대가 겪고 있는 '불안' 은 무엇일까에 대한 물음으로 출발하게 된 KID는 'insecurity-불안의 시선 展'으로 그 물음에 대해 관객과 함께 사유하고 소통하고자 한다. ■ 오화진

Anxiety is a generic term for the psychological and/or physiological reaction provoked when a person expects or realizes discordance between the inner world and the outside world, or discrepancy between existence and cognition. We can say that anxiety is distinguished from mere fear in that it breaks out even without concrete object or definite substance that poses a threat to you, and while fear is causal and empirical, anxiety is fundamental and transcendental. ● The seven artists in this exhibition are trying to bring up the subject of anxiety through their individual experience. ● The exhibits illustrate the anxiety about family groups with interpersonal uneasiness, existence uncertainty, and comparison apprehension, and contain social problems and gender role conflict in black and white, caused by South Korea's conscription system. ● Having started from the question of what 'anxiety' is that our generation is now going through, KID desires to think about the question and interact with visitors, through this exhibition Insecurity-Eyes of Anxiety. ■ OHHWAJIN
