2015 쓰이고 지워진 ● 2015년이었다. 다른 해와 마찬가지로 그 것은 왔다가 갔다. 매일의 의식적 행위로 나는 나의 말들을 썼다가 지웠다. 남은 것들은 이렇다: 각 열두달의 드로잉들, 목탄과 지우개 가루, 영상, 그리고 한 권의 책. ● 이 책은 얼마간의 기간동안 무엇이 쓰고 지워졌는지를 들여다보는 안내서의 역할을 한다. 그 것은 12개의 드로잉과 함께 하는 것으로, 각 달에 대한 통찰을 얻기 위해서 사용될 수도 있다. ● 독자는 선형적 시간으로 접근하는 것을 택해 이것이 씌여진 대로, 왼쪽에서 오른쪽으로, 시작하는 1월부터 끝나는 12월까지 읽어갈 수도 있다. 아니면 비선형적 시간을 통한 또 다른 경로로 독자는 자유롭게 건너뛸 수 있다, 임의로 한 날에서 다른 날로 앞뒤를 지나치며, 이 쪽에서 저쪽으로, 그리하여 단어들이 다른 의미를 유발하거나 전과 후에 따라오는 것에 의해 상이한 연관성을 가질 수 있도록, 각각의 읽기가 하나의 책 안에서 서로 다른 이해를 생성하면서 말이다. ■ 에릭 스캇 넬슨

2015 written and erased ● The year was 2105. It came and went as all years do. As a daily ritual I wrote and erased my words. This is what remains: Twelve monthly drawings, charcoal and eraser crumble, a video, and a book. ● The book is meant as a guide, a glimpse into what was written and erased over a period of time. It is an accompaniment to the twelve drawings and can be used to gain insight into each month. ● The reader may choose to approach time linearly and read left to right from the beginning of January to the end of December as it was written, or as an alternate path through non-linear time, one can jump freely, randomly skipping back and forth from day to day, page to page, so that the words may trigger different meanings and associations depending on what comes before and after, with each read producing a different understanding of the whole. ■ Eric Scott Nelson
