응/숨 Uhm/Sum

공공의 화단이나 건물과 거리 사이 유휴지에서 재현되는 도시 자연은 식물 생장의 전과정을 지지하지 않는다. 그럼에도 불구하고 어쩔수 없다는 듯 터져나오는 식물의 몸체를 본다. 자연스러움과 외압의 경계에서 찌그러진 덩어리의 형태와 외피의 가장자리에서 미려하게 움찍대는 에너지가 도시 조직의 가로와 세로의 틈새에서 발화하고 있다. 그들의 상태를 평면에 재현하는 과정에서 나는 그들의 외피를 만진다는 느낌을 얻는다. ■ 정주희

Usually Nature reproduced in a city on a public garden or the abandoned lot do not go through the general process of plant growth. Nevertheless, bodies of plants burst out as if it cannot be helped. Distorted form from the borders between being nature and being restricted, and the seductive energy in plants' outer skin are rising between the horizontal and vertical gaps of urban structures. The process of reproducing the state of them on a canvas gives a feeling of touching their outer skin to me. ■ Juhee Chung
