Drawing Space살구는 성북동 북정마을 (서울 성곽마을)에 2014년 7월 오픈 한 예술 공간으로, 전시, 아티스트 레지던스, 퍼포먼스 등이 진행되었다. 「살구」는 서로 다른 정서와 문법으로 쓰여진 페이지 들의 모임이다. 즉흥적, 미시적, 파편적 페이지들을 기꺼이 수용하는, 순서가 바뀌어도 읽히는 '책'이고 싶다. Drawing Space 살구는 북정마을에서 얻은 영감과 재료로 작업하기를 반긴다. ● Drawing Space살구에서는 2016,3.4.-3.6일까지 2016년2월 한 달간 Artist Residence에 초대된 송미라 작가의 드로잉과 페인팅들을 선보인다. ● 송미라의 작업은 자연과 건축 공간에 대한 인식에서 출발한다. 작가는 공간의 기억, 느낌들을 드로잉, 페인팅, 설치작업등의 다양한 매체를 통해 '익숙한 듯 낯선' 상상의 공간으로 재구성 하는 작업을 해왔다. 한 달간의 레지던스를 통해, 작가는 지난 5년간 삶의 공간이 되었던 캐나다 밴쿠버와, Drawing Space살구가 위치한 서울성곽아래 북정마을의 이질적 풍경을 경험하며, 서로 다른 도시공간이 어떻게 작가에게 내면화 되고 '재구성 된 풍경' 으로 다가오는 지를 질문한다. 오픈 스튜디오에서 작가는 최근 밴쿠버와 성북동 북정마을에서 진행한 작업들을 함께 전시할 예정이다. ■ 드로잉 스페이스 살구

In her practice, Mira Song explores natural and constructed public spaces, reframed through the embodiment of different senses that trigger memories and imagination. Mira investigates this aesthetic territory by gathering objects and images of architectural and natural spaces which she then re-appropriates into multi-media works, including painting and sculpture. ● Mira Song is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC and Seoul, South Korea and has exhibited in Seoul and Vancouver.
