Record of dreams

지금까지 내가 경험하고 받아들인 수많은 정보와 감정의 축적 등은 현재의 내가 외부 자극에 반응하고 정보를 수용하는 과정에 있어서 주관적 방법 체계를 구축하게 한다. 이것은 나의 작업에 대한 아이텐티디가 되고 끊임없는 외부와의 소통과 상호작용, 자기성찰, 시간이 더해져 진화해 간다. 나는 다각적 심상에 대한 주관적 해석의 기록으로서의 작업이라고 할 수 있는 이러한 과정들을 섬유를 재료로 한 자수조형 작업으로 시도 하고 있다. 나의 작업 방법들은 상대적으로 긴 시간의 제작과정을 거치면서 내면적인 정화작용, 자기성찰, 상호소통 등의 과정이 동반되는데 이것은 제작기법과 과정 속에 일맥상통하는 작업의 정체성을 부여하는 방법이다. 나는 일상의 경험을 비롯한 즉흥적으로 떠오르는 생각, 기억, 감정, 꿈 등을 내면화된 이미지로 형상화하고 재구성 한다. 이는 모두 일정한 밑그림 없이 수를 놓아 형태를 만들고 스터핑 하여 입체감을 부여하기도 하며 작업이 완성되는 긴 시간의 과정 속에서 끊임없이 유동적으로 변화하는 내면의 이미지를 투영하기 위해 재료 선정과 오브제의 배치, 색상의 미묘한 변화 등으로 시각화 한다. 이번 전시는 주로 꿈속에서 본 듯한 아주 오래된 기억의 이미지, 구체적인 그것이 아닌 오직 느낌만 남은 아득함, 따뜻한 햇살이나 반짝이는 모래알로 상징되는 유년시절의 추억, 실낱같이 떠오른 기억 한 자락에 집중하다보면 잊고 있던 추억들이 보석처럼 소중하게 떠오르고 다시 그것을 잊지 않으려 어떤 방식으로든 기록하고자하는 경험- 잠재의식에서 의식의 수면위로 떠올려지는... 우리 정신세계의 활발한 생명 활동 등의 이미지가 주요 모티브가 되었다. ■ 오시연

My experience, the accumulation of emotions, and external stimulus made my own method of interacting with external and became an identity of my works. It progresses continuously through constant communication and interaction with external, introspection, and time. My working method is a fiber material with embroidery. This method is accompanied purification, introspection, and mutual communication through relatively long time production process. It is a way to give an identity of work consistently. I embody and reconstitute feelings, memories, emotions, and dreams including everyday experience. The work make shapes without a rough sketch, and give three-dimensional effect with stuffing. To reflect an internal image that ever-changing, give effects that material selection and placement, and subtle changes in color in the long process of completing work. They became the motif of this exhibition - image of very old memories like in a dream, and only remaining sense of warmth, memory of childhood that be symbolized a warm sunshine or glistening sand, a feeble section of memories emerging like a jewel, and vigorous vital activity of our metal world. ■ OHSIYEON
