조형예술의 소재는 빛에 의해 형성되는 공간 속에서 원형과 구별되는 질감을 나타내는 미묘한 변이과정을 경험한다. 마치 개체가 환경의 영향을 받으면서 발생과 성장 과정을 통해 진화하는 것과 비슷하다. 빛의 모습은 개인의 신념과 사고방식, 그리고 시대와 문화에 따라 다양하게 표현되었다. 예술 속에서 빛의 유희는 무엇보다도 눈에 보이는 세계에 대한 솔직함으로부터 연유한다. ● 빛은 직선적인 시간 개념으로 이해될 수 있다. 시간의 지속성은 베르그송에 의하면 하나의 대상이 변화하면서 다양성을 보일지라도 자기를 그대로 유지하고 있으면 그 대상은 지속되는 것이라고 한다. 시간의 흐름 속에서 계속적으로 일어나는 변화인 빛의 유희도 자기동일성을 유지한다. 시간의 지속은 본질이며, 생명을 의미한다. ●사물은 끊임없이 빛을 통해 다른 사물을 반영하고 반사하며, 자기를 다른 사물에 투영한다. 더 정확히 말해, 사물의 모습이 빛에 의해 전달됨으로써 시간과 공간이 구현된다. 빛이 없다면 사물들 사이의 상호작용도 존재하지 않을 것이다. 빛은 인간과 사회, 자연을 연결한다. 나아가서 사람들은 현실을 재해석하고 재구성한 가상의 세계에 자신의 내면을 투영하고 안식을 구한다.

This is similar to the evolution in which an object is created and grows under the influence of the environment. The figure of light, depending on individual's beliefs, way of thinking, and the culture of the era, has been phrased in a variety of ways. For the most part, the frolic of light originates in one's honesty towards the world around him. ● Light can be understood in linear flow of time. According to Bergson, an object is sustained as long as it maintains its essence, even if it alters in a variety of ways by lapse of time. The frolic of light, which is a continuous process of change over time, maintains its identity, too. The continuation of time represents the essence and the life. ● One thing constantly reflects other things, and projects itself to other things through light. More accurately, as the shapes of things are transmitted by light, the time and the space are realized. Without light, there is no interaction between things. Light connects people, the society, and the nature. Further, people project their insides and seek rest in the virtual world that reinterprets and reorganizes the reality. ■
