아모레퍼시픽 브랜드 '설화수'의 대표적 문화메세나 활동인 '설화문화전'은 전통과 현대가 서로 조화롭게 발전해 나가도록 돕는 문화 소통의 장이다. 올해로 9회를 맞는 설화문화전은 다양한 분야의 젊은 작가들이 구전으로 내려오는 전통설화를 재해석한 현대 설치 예술품으로 구성된다. ● 『설화(說話) - 백일홍 이야기』라는 제목으로 선보이는 2015 설화문화전은 애틋하고 영원한 사랑이야기인 '백일홍' 설화를 주제로 삼았다. 전시에 참여하는 11팀의 젊은 작가들은 설치, 공예, 인터랙티브 미디어, 건축, 디자인, 사운드, 일러스트 등 다양한 장르의 작품들로 백일홍 이야기의 각 장면들을 현대적인 감각으로 풀어낸다. 선과 악, 다짐과 약속, 만남과 이별, 죽음과 환생 등 전통설화 속의 상징적 소재를 참신한 시각으로 재구성하여 익숙한 이야기를 새롭게 바라볼 수 있는 특별한 경험을 선사한다. 관람객들은 갤러리의 특이한 구조를 활용하여 설치된 여러 장르의 작품을 감상함과 동시에, 스스로가 백일홍 설화에 의미를 담아 해석하고 공감할 수 있을 것이다. ■ 아모레퍼시픽미술관

For the past 9 years, Sulwha Cultural Exhibition has been a representative culture Mécénat program of Sulwhasoo. It served as a platform for cultural communication, which helped the modern and tradition to evolve in harmony. The Sulwha Cultural Exhibition has chosen "Baek Il Hong(a tale of crape myrtle)," an old story known to most Koreans from their childhood, as this year's theme. It is expected to be an unprecedented exhibition titled as 『Once upon a time: tale of crape myrtle』. It opens to high expectations by bringing together 11 rising, young contemporary artist groups from various genres ● The 2015 Sulwha Cultural Exhibition brings back the heart-wrenching story of eternal love to life with a modern touch by breathing imagination into the folktale. Symbolic motifs in the traditional folktale - good and evil, commitment and promise, meeting and parting, death and reincarnation – are reconstructed with varying and unconventional viewpoints. The playful and unexpected twists will encourage visitors to look at the familiar story with a new perspective.
