여기 우리 회화과 46명의 예비작가들의 작품을 선보입니다. 이 작품들은 4년전 작가의 꿈을 안고 시작한 대학생활의 추억이자 학생들의 뜨거운 열정과 교수님들의 헌신적인 지도가 어우러져 만들어진 결정체입니다. 또한 지난 4년간 밤을 낮삼아 작업에 매진해온 결과물이며 우리 학생들에겐 자식과도 같은 작품들입니다. 비록 아직도 많이 어설프고 부족함이 많지만 최선을 다해 내놓은 작품은 어느 대가의 작품 보다 그 가치면에서 결코 부족하다고 생각지 않습니다.

저는 졸업전의 의미를 대학 생활의 마감을 준비하는 과정이자 동시에 학교라는 둥지에서 벗어나 홀로서기를 준비하는 과정이었다고 생각합니다. 그 과정은 진지했고 치열했던 시간들이었습니다. 이제 조심스럽게 첫발을 내딛는 이들에게 그동안 애정으로 지켜봐 주신 부모님과 선후배 및 지인께서는 그 관심의 끈을 놓지 마시고 우리 학생들이 세상에 나아가 제대로 자리매김 할 수 있도록 도와 주시길 부탁드립니다.

마지막으로 그동안 작업을 하면서 보여준 우리 졸업생들의 열정에 경의와 무한한 사랑을 보냅니다. 또한, 우리 학생들이 이 자리에 서기까지 물심양면으로 보살펴 주시고 동덕여대를 믿고 지켜봐주신 부모님께도 회화과의 여러 지도교수님들을 대표하여 고개숙여 감사의 말씀을 드립니다. ■ 서용

FOR THOSE THAT ARE ABOUT TO STAND ALONE ● We hereby present the works by our 46 artists from the Fine Arts Department. These pieces are the conglomerations of college life, passion and dedicated instructions and also the most valuable creations over countless nights by our students who started off with the dream of becoming an artist 4 years ago. Though there are still rooms for improvement, such dedicated pieces are no less worthy in their qualities compared to that of great artists'. ● I believe the graduate exhibition is a wrap up of college life as well as a preparatory course for standing alone, away from school's protection. The process was serious and arduous, and I hope that the parents, colleagues and the fellow supporters will continuously keep a close watch on our students until they can successfully advance into the society. ● Lastly, I would like to send my best regards and love to our graduates for their passion for work, as well as a word of gratitude on behalf of all the academic advisors of the Fine Arts Department to the parents who have provided full material and emotional support for the students and trusted Dongduk Women's University.
