researcher's way

apmap(amorepacific museum of art project)은 전국의 작업현장을 순회하며 야외에서 펼쳐지는 아모레퍼시픽미술관의 현대미술 프로젝트로, 미술을 통하여 일상과 예술의 경계를 허무는 공공미술 릴레이 전시이다. 공장 (2013, 오산), 녹차밭 (2014, 제주), 연구소 정원 (2015, 용인), 공사현장 (2016 서울) 으로 장소를 옮기며, 기존의 공간을 생동감 넘치는 전시 현장으로 바꾸어 작가, 작품, 관람객이 소통하는 장을 마련한다. ● researcher's way는 apmap의 세 번째 전시로 용인 기술연구원 야외 공간에서 펼쳐진다. 1954년 국내 최초의 화장품 연구실에서 시작하여 인류의 아름다움과 건강, 그리고 아시아의 미에 대한 연구를 선도하는 연구소의 기능을 야외 정원으로 확장시킨다. 감각과 인식의 미(美)를 탐구해온 작가를 연구자로 참여시키고, 예술가와 화장품 연구원의 만남을 통해 두 분야의 교집합을 "새로운 미를 향한 테크놀로지"로 추출하였다. ● 수차례 현장을 방문한 16팀의 작가들은 주제에 대한 연구의 과정과 결과를 조각, 설치, 인터랙티브 미디어, 사운드, 건축 등 다양한 장르의 작품으로 제작하였다. 전시 장소 곳곳에 설치된 장소특정적(site-specific) 신작 사이를 거니는 관람객은 작품을 매개로 작가들의 개념과 질문에 초대되며, 미에 대한 인식의 지평을 넓히는 사색의 여정, researcher's way(연구자의 길)에 동참한다. ■ 아모레퍼시픽미술관

APMAP (amorepacific museum of art project) is an art project which is held in different locations throughout Korea. As it takes place at ordinary workplaces, APMAP intends to open up a new field to blur the boundary between everyday life and art. APMAP travels various places such as SCM factory (2013, Osan), green tea field (2014, Jeju), R&D Center (2015, Yongin), the construction site (2016, Seoul). Through this project, ordinary places transform into the scenes where art, artists and viewers can communicate with each other. ● The third exhibition of APMAP titled researcher's way takes place in the outdoor spaces of the AMOREPACIFIC R&D Center in Yongin. Now the leading research center of beauty and health, and of beauty of Asia, began in 1954 with its first cosmetics laboratory in Korea and is expanding on the function of its outdoors garden. The artists who explore the beauty of sense and cognition have been invited to participate as researchers, and the theme of "technology towards new beauty" was borne through the synthesis of artists and researchers. ● Sixteen artist teams created new, site-specific works in a variety of mediums ranging from sculpture, installation, interactive media, to sound and architecture to show both the research processes and outcomes based on the theme. The viewers are invited to walk between the works and contemplate the artists' questions and concepts on a meditative journey, joining the researcher's way. ■ Amorepacific Museum of Art
