일상 속에서 흔히 사람에게서 미물의 모습이 비춰지는 것을 목격할 수 있다. 외모가 닮았거나 행동이 닮아있거나 하지만 보통은 그 것이 좋은 의미에서 쓰이지는 일은 거의 드물다. 질이 좋지 못한 사람에겐 "벌레만도 못한..." 이라 하며 외골수에겐 "황소고집"이라 칭하고 무능하고 쓸모없는 사람에게 "빈대"라 하는 것 등 짐승이 들어가 수식어는 수두룩하며 욕에서 "개"는 툭하면 나오는 단어이다. ● 이렇듯 사람에게 동물, 벌레를 빗대는 말, 속담들이 있듯이 우리의 모습 속에 미물의 형상이 드러난다. 주위만 하더라도 시기, 질투, 탐욕, 이기심 등 어린 아이 같은 유치한 상황들을 쉽게 겪을 수 있고 여기저기에서 짐승의 모습을 보여 지는 것이 우리 사회가 짐승의 우리 같이 느껴지고 한다. 그러한 모습을 사람과 미물의 결합이라는 형태로 나타냈으며 표현 또한 아이 모습이나 캐릭터의 모습으로 어른들의 애 같은 단순하고 유치한 행동이라는 아이러니한 상황을 만들려 한다. ● 이 아이러니한 상황들은 스스로를 정점에 위치한 우월한 이성적 존재라 여기는 사람들의 모습을 미물로 나타내어 이 미물들과 인간의 다름이 무엇인가에 대해 고민하게끔 한다. 벌레나 동물들은 자연의 섭리에 의해 본능에 따라 움직일 뿐이라 하지만 사람은 자신의 판단과 선택에 따라 움직이는 오히려 알고도 유치하고 이기적인 행동을 하는 것이 진정 미물보다 못한 건 아닐까? 사람이 사람답게 산다는 말처럼 사람우리 속에서 진정한 사람됨의 의미를 되새겨본다. ■ 차건우

In our daily life, we can find illumination of insignificant creature from human beings. We can find similarity from outlooking or behaviour. But, mostly those are not good meaning. There are several examples of which are using animals. We are saying "inferior to insects..." to the person who has no quality of human beings. Or we say "bullheaded" to the someone who is very stubborn. If someone is useless, we call him as "bedbug". And the "dog" is the most pick out words when people insults the others. ● As we see that there are many words and s using the animals, the insignificant creature's images is revealed in our appearance. There are many such circumstances like envy, jealousy, greed, selfishness and we can easily find animal like images in our society. It makes me feel like our society becomes animal pen. In that, I would like to express such an paradox as combination shape of animal and human. Specially, I like to use child figure because I want to express such a ironical case which is childish or simple. ● Those ironical cases make us think what is difference in between human beings and beasts if we see the animal shape in our human who is thinking we are a superior reasonable creatures. Insects and animals are moving as nature's instinct. But human beings move following their own decision and selection. Thus, sometimes the results are childish and selfish. Isn't it inferior to insignificant creatures? We need to think what is the meaning of real human beings and try to live as real human beings in our society. ■ CHAGUNWOO
