Forest - Autumn 자연, 그 오고 감

하늘의 기운을 천기라 하고 자연의 변화적 시차를 오행이라고 한다. 지구에서 생존하는 모든 생물은 오운과 육기에 따라 변화한다. 오행은 다섯 가지 기운, 혹은 움직임으로 목, 화, 토, 금, 수 라고 한다. 오행과 함께 변화하는 여섯 가지 기운을 육기 또는 지기라 한다. 음과 양의 원리는 성하고 쇠하는 것을 근본으로 돌고 도는 것이다. 생명의 시초는 음과 양의 기운이 교류하는 것으로 식물은 꽃을 피우고 열매를 맺으며 동물과 사람은 잉태와 분만을 하는 것이다.

5행은 계절적으로 봄(목), 여름(화), 토(중), 가을(금), 겨울(수)로 나누어 본다. 6기인 풍 한 서 습 조 화를 살펴보면 풍(風), 땅 아래 깊은 곳에서부터 생기가 발동하여 생명의 문이 열리려 한다. 한(寒), 음은 위로 양은 아래로 놓이는 현상인 수승화강으로 이루어진다. 서(暑), 음과 양의 기운이 오고 가면 생장이 활발해 진다. 습(濕), 습윤은 생장의 근본으로 음양이 서로 주고받고 섞이면서 축축한 물기가 생긴다. 조(燥), 형체가 견실해지고 고정된 모습으로 완성되고 계절로 하면 가을이다. 화(火), 물 기운이 부족하여 생장을 멈추고 잎이 떨어진다.

자연의 모든 생물의 생성 과정은 이러한 여섯가지 기운의 시작과 끝을 가진다. 이것이 순차적으로 나타난 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울은 자연현상의 진행되는 경로이기도 하다. 이번 작업은 풀과 나무, 숲과 산, 바람과 강을 여름에서 가을까지의 풍경을 담았다. (2014년 가을) ■ 소원섭

The Sentiment of Mountains ● His paintings depict many mountains such as a Surock Mt. Dobong Mt. Bukhan Mt. Seolrock Mt. Even though the prospects and shapes are different, the mountains are always covered with peace. When we see his paintings, we can feel calm. The high sky without any clouds is very impressive. How did he express the mountains as a his own view? Though he uses oil colours, his technique seems like Korean painting, expecially his unique use of conspicuous colors with light and shadow, and omitting the outlines of the mountain. As he is putting, pressing, rounding and rubbing with the flat brush. he paints the maximum the effect of expression. The process of producing the paintings is accidental and impromptu, the result appears as an illusion seems like a real thing. ● At first , he started a sketch based on very careful observation. As he is working in the countryside, rural districts such as Yangsuri and Pocheon. The paintings of this time are precisely painted pictures with a specific details. As he learned how to use a flat brush and understand the differences between water colour and oil colour, he became to develop "The So Won-sub's style". When we are looking at his paintings, we can almost hear the running water of a riverside and feel the coolness of stepping on a mountain top. ● When we observe his use of colours, the artist often uses ultra marine, viridian, violet and crimson lake(colour). Among them he usually uses ultra marine and viridian. When he draws close ups, he uses viridian and green, When he draws distance views, he uses violet.
