지나도 좋으리

쓸쓸한 날엔 노란 플랫슈즈를. ● 李의 지난 작업 중에「여행」이라는 그림을 떠올린다. 모노톤으로 채색된 어항 같기도 하고 연못 같기도 한 바닥의 수초 사이로 가라앉고 있는 (빨간 리본과 커다랗고 흰 꽃문양이 있는)노란플랫슈즈 한 짝이 그려진 작품이다. 물밑으로 침잠하고 있는 피동성의 무력감을 반감시키는 노란색의 경쾌함이 인상적이다. 잠시, 저 노란플랫슈즈가 하는 여행은 고단함의 향기조차 달콤하겠지...라는 생각을 한다. 노란플랫슈즈가 李와 참 많이 닮았다. 붉은 리본으로 묶은 머리에 노란 원피스를 입은 李라 해도 손색이 없다. 저 흰 꽃 마냥 예쁠 것이다. 입가에 미소가 번진다.

李의 그림을 마주하고 있을 땐 나도 모르게 회상에 빠진다. 화양연화, 꽃다운 시절, 그 이름 청춘, 인생에서 가장 아름다운 시절. 누군가에게는 지나간, 누군가는 겪고 있을, 그리고 누군가에게는 아직 오직 않은 시간. 하지만 결국 애상 속에서 읊조리게 되는 시절... 노란플랫슈즈 한 짝이 조용히 시선을 같이 하고 있다. 아마도 李가 말을 건네 오는 순간 일게다.

'아름다움이 없으면 삶은 쓸쓸해진다.' 라고 말하는 어느 시인의 처연한 고백. 예술적 파토스로만 가득 차 있는 정신의 현실은 많이 아프다. 그 시인도 그렇다. 농담처럼 말해본다. 시인에게 李의 노란플랫슈즈를 선물하겠노라고. 저 멀리, 저 높이 빛나는 별을 찾으러 떠날 땐 노란플랫슈즈를 신고 꽃길을 부러 지나가보라고. 당신의 빛나던 시절이 당신의 뒷모습을 그 길 끝까지 지켜보고 있을 거라고. 그리고 누군가는 그 모습을 보고 인생이 쓸쓸하지 않다고 말할지도 모른다고. 2014년 가을을 목전에 두고. 蔡. ■ 채민희

뒷모습에도 분명 표정이 있다. 오히려 더 정직할지도 모른다. 먼 곳을 응시하는 여자의 머리카락이 한 올 한 올 목덜미를 간지럽힌다. 등 돌린 뒷모습은 나를 쓸쓸하게 하지만 동시에 같은 곳을 바라본다는 동질감도 들게 한다. ■ 이선희

A Lonely Day & Yellow Flat Shoes ● I recall the picture 「Travel」of the last artworks of Lee(李). It is a work containing a yellow flat shoe (with a red ribbon and a large, white flower pattern) sinking through water plants on the floor like a fish tank or a pond colored in a monotone. The lightness of yellow color, decreasing the helplessness of passiveness sinking under the water, is impressive. In a moment, I think ... that the travel of that yellow shoe might sweet even in the smell of tiredness. The yellow shoe indeed resembles Lee(李) a lot.  It is just like Lee(李) wearing a yellow dress with a red ribbon tied. It may be pretty like that white flower.  A smile comes to the lips When I am facing a Lee(李)'s picture, I secretly fall in the recall. Mood for Love, Flower Beautiful Days of Life, Whose Name Is Youth, Which Is the Most Beautiful Days in Our Life. Someone passed it away, someone is going through it, and still someone does not face it yet. However, eventually the days recollecting in the memories ... The yellow shoe catches our eyes quietly. Possibly it is the very moment Lee(李) is talking to us. ● A sad confession of a poet saying "If there is no beauty, life becomes lonely." The mental reality, only full of artistic pathos, is so painful. So is the poet. This might be a joke. I will present the poet with the Lee(李)'s yellow flat shoe. If he leaves to find a star shining farther away and higher, I will ask him to take on the yellow flat shoe and pass through a flower path on purpose. Then his shining days will watch his behind appearance to the end of the road. And someone looks at the appearance and may say life is not so dreary. On the Threshold of the Fall of 2014. Chae(蔡). ■

A rear view has a clear face. It might be more honest. Hair of a woman gazing at a distance tickles her neck strand by strand. Her appearance from the back makes me lonely, but at the same time lets me have the homogeneity looking at the same direction. ■ LEE SUN HEE
