이 일련의 작업들은 문명화된 현대 사회에 가해지는 위협으로서 훔치는 행위를 탐색한다. 문 앞의 야만인들은 여러 세대에 걸쳐 형성되어 왔으며 이제 우리의 존재를 규정하고 있는 권력, 진보, 사회 체제에 대해 맹렬한 공격을 펼치고 있다. 이와 같은 대립 본성은 권위, 규제, 교화에 의해 억압되어야 한다. 이 '문 앞의 야만인들'을 두려워하고 혐오하라.

노르웨이에 거주하며 활동하는 비센테 몰레스타드(1987년 볼리비아 라파즈 출생)는 이미지와 텍스트 등에서 차용한 재료를 이용해 상반되는 패러다임의 충돌로부터 내러티브를 구성하고 또 재구성한다. 그는 DIY의 전통과 하위문화를 기반으로 작업하며 관습적이고 편안한 것 너머의 본질을 탐구하고 있다. ■ 비센테 몰레스타드

A series of works that explores the gesture of stealing as a threat to the civilized and modern society. A savage attack on power, progress and the systems that took generations to build and that now define our existence. This nature of opposition should be suppressed with authority, restriction and domestication. Fear and loathe them, these barbarians at the gates. ● Vicente H.J. Mollestad (b. 1987, La Paz, Bolivia) lives and works in Norway. Through using appropriated material he constructs and reconstructs narratives that derive from conflicts of opposing paradigms.
