과거에는 사내들이 살아남기 위해 사냥을 하고 전장(戰場)에 나갔다. 더는 활을 쏘거나 칼을 휘두를 필요가 없게 되자 그들의 전투본능은 새로운 방식의 추구본능(追求本能)으로 변화하였다. 현대 정보화 사회 속에서의 트랜드세터 (Trend-setter), 디지털 가제티어(Digital Gadgeteer), 얼리어댑터(Early adapter)로 대변(代辯)되는 신인류 남성의 삶의 행태는 생명을 위협받지만 않을 뿐, 역시나 외롭고 고달픈 그들 간의 새로운 투쟁이 되었다. 이들이 끊임없이 추구하는 삶의 방식을 이해하여 표현하려고 시도하였고, 이를 통하여 외롭고 고달픈 '남자사람'들이 스스로(自身)를 자각(自覺)하여 위로(自慰)할 기회가 되었으면 싶다. ■ 권혜조

In the past, the males went hunting and went into the battlefield for the survival of mankind. As they losea necessity of shooting an arrow or wielding a knife, their battling instinct changed into an instinct to seek with a new style. The life manner of neanthropic male, who could be represented as a Trend-setter, Digital Gadgeteer, or Early adapter in modern communicopia (communication+utopia), is no different from the past as it is just a new form of fight with unchanged loneliness and exhaustion just without a life threat. Hopefully, this attempts to understand and express their life style they ceaselessly seek, could give lonely and exhausted 'male beings' an opportunity to aware themselves and thus to be consoled. ■ KWONHYEJO
