시간, 그 표정과 울림 ● 흐릿하다. / 우리가 기억하는 모든 지난 것들이 그렇다. // 우리가 사실이라고 믿고 있는 것도 / 어쩌면 우리의 기억이 그러하듯이 / 진실이 아닐 수도 있다. // '사실'의 사전적 정의는 / 실제로 있었던 일이나 현재에 있는 일이지만 / 자신의 말이 옳다고 강조할 때 쓰는 말이기도 하다. / 그것은 곧 진실은 거짓이 될 수도 있고, / 사실이 또 사실이 아닐 수 도 있다는 것. / 어쩌면 우리가 알고 있는 사실은 가려져 있는지도 모른다. / 그러나 시간은 거짓말을 하지 않는다. // 세상의 모든 것(萬象)은 거짓 없는 시간의 과정 속에서 / 생명을 얻는다. / 시간은 예기할 수 없는 방식으로 다양하고 끊임없이 / 존재를 변화시키고 다른 것으로 재탄생 시킨다. // 그렇게 생성되고 또 퇴적하는 시간의 과정을 통하여 / 예전의 진실도 변하게 마련이다. / 변한 것이 반드시 지나간 것의 부정은 아니다. / 그것은 또 다른 창조이다. // 나는 바다의 시간이 만들어 가는 산호가 좋다. / 그 고요함이 좋다. / 조용히 시간을 축적해 온 심연의 산호는 자신의 표정이 있다. / 산호는 침묵의 언어로 지난 세월의 흔적과 / 그것이 지니고 있는 진실의 무게를 보여준다. // 산호는 자연의 부분이자 전체이다. / 영겁(永劫)으로 이어지는 시간의 켜켜 속에서 / 존재의 삶과 죽음을 반복하며 / 산호는 인간이 가늠할 수 없는 아득한 시간의 언어를 들려주고 있다. / 나는 그 아득한 시간 저편에서 전해지는 소리의 울림이 좋다. / 그 표정이 좋다. ■ 정현주

time, the face and its echo ● fading away. / all that memories we impressed from old days, so it is. // all that 'truth' we believe, / as the memory is so, / perhaps not 'the truth.' // 'truth' : the on-going event or the event actually occurred rather than imagined. / whereas we define 'truth': the emphasis on how true what we speak. / Then, that truth is a lie: / that truth not being a truth. / perhaps the truth we believe is blinded. / whereas time is not. // all creation in the universe self-vitalize between true moments. / time modifies its being and recreate something else / in an endless, unforeseen, and a diverse process. // through the time of becoming and cumulating, / the truth of old times is bound to change. / what has changed is not necessarily a denial of the gone, / it's another creation. // being like the coral created by the time of sea underneath, / I am fond of the calm. / the coral of deep underneath, / it has its face from calmly amassed time. / the coral put on a trace of the time and a dignity of truth it has / with silent language. // coral, itself is the nature and also a part of the whole. / repeating creation and degeneration from layers of time / going through the eternity / coral plays a language of distant times that / we cannot even make a guess. / I am fond of the resonance delivered by the old times. / I am fond of the face of it. ■ JUNGHYUNJU
