Crystallize

살아낸다는 것은 힘든 일이다. 거의 대부분의 인류에게 그렇다. 노자는 일부러 무언가 하려 하지 말고 순리대로 천수를 누리라고 말했다. 세상을 위해 혹은 나를 위해 노력하지 않는 삶, 그저 존재하는 삶. 생명은 존재하는 것만으로 충분하다는 것일까. ● 오늘날의 우리들에게만 유난히 잔인한 것이 아니라 우주는 원래 잔인했다. 우주는 인류에게 관심이 없다. 이 지구는 우리가 사라져도 아무렇지 않을 것이다. 이걸 받아들인다면, 우리는 세상이 우리를 중심으로 돌아간다는 거대한 압박감에서 벗어날 수 있다. 세상을 위해 무언가 하려 하지 말고 가벼운 마음으로 그저 천수를 누리면 되는 것이다. 어쩌면 그것이 인류의 올바른 숙명일지도 모른다.

그게 어렵다면 - 물론 어렵다 - 다른 식으로 보자. 모든 것에는 시작과 끝이 있다. 그러나 그 끝은 (다시) 시작-발전-쇠퇴-종말-(다시) 시작 으로 끊임없이 순환한다. 그 거대한 순환속에서 우리의 수명은 찰나에 불과하다. 그러나 우리를 구성하는 원자들, 그들의 수명은 거의 영원하다. "우리 몸 속의 원자들은 이미 몇 개의 별을 거쳐서 왔고, 수백만에 이른 생물들의 일부"였다.(빌 브라이슨, "거의 모든 것의 역사") 거의 영원의 시간 동안 원자는 사라지지 않고 재활용 된다. 부처의 몸 속에 있었던 원자들이 바로 당신의 몸 속에 있을 수도 있다. ● 흩어져 있던 에너지가 하나로 뭉쳐서 선명해 지는 순간을 말하고 싶었다. 말하자면 (다시) 시작의 순간이다. 커다랗던 형체가 쪼개지고 쪼개져 먼지가 되었을 때, 더 이상 쪼개질 수 없을 때, 그 먼지들이 다시 뭉쳐 새로운 형체로 만들어지는 그 순간을 말하고 싶었다. 나의 크리스탈은 그 순간의 은유이다. ● 모든 일은 지나간다. 삶도 지나간다. 그러나 그것은 끝이 아니라 거대한 순환고리의 하나일 뿐이다. ■ 정지

Living one's life is not simple, considering. It is a fact for nearly every single human being. Lao-tzu(The founder of Taoism) recommended rather living out one's allotted life of span than doing something intentionally. Just being not trying doing something for myself or other self, is that existence enough? ● Indeed, the universe has been cruel to humankind through its long history. We are not necessarily important to it. Even if the human being is gone, it will not signify much to the earth, a part of universe. Only when we accept this concept, we are no longer under massive presser of the arrogance idea that whole universe exist for us. Consequently, the previous recommendation by Lao-tzu is the predestination of humankind. ● If it is hard – indeed it is – try to take different view. There are the beginning and the end in every event. However, the end again circulates from the beginning, to the growth, to the decline, to the end which is another beginning. Human being's life is a moment in that enormous circulation while the one of atom which composes human being is eternal. The atom which composes our body comes through several planets and was an element of millions creatures(Taken from A short history of nearly everything by Bill Bryson). It is recycled for endless time instead of being dead. There might be the atoms that had been inside Buddha, right inside your body. ● I endeavor to express the moment when the scattered energy become one strong and clear. As it were, the moment of re-begin. When one gigantic mass splinters into the microscopic dust through undefined history, then there is the moment when they re-begin to form a thing. My CRYSTAL metaphors that moment. ● Nearly every event passes by and so does our lives. It is not the end but an element of enormous circulation, though. ■ ZUNGZI
