Shelter of mind ● 나는 평소에 버려지거나 소외당하거나, 여리고 약한 존재에 대해 관심이 많다. 세상에 버려진 것들은 수도 없이 많다. 인간에 의해 유기되어진 생명, 심지어 무생물인 인형들마저도 세상의 모든 것들은 누군가의 필요에 의해 소유 되어졌다가 버려진다. ● 한없이 여리고 약한 그들을 내가 채색하고 묘사하고 표현함으로 인해서 그들의 존재 자체를 다시 재현한다. 작업을 통해 그들에게 나의 모습이 투영되고 그들은 내 작품 속 주인공임과 동시에 내 감정이입의 대상이 된다. ● 작업은 대상 자체에 포커스가 맞추어진 이미지와 자연 그대로의 풍경이 아닌 유토피아적 공간으로 재구성한 상상의 풍경, 이렇듯 크게 두 가지 형태로 나누어진다. 작업에 등장하는 인물들은 나의 모습일 수도 있고 내 눈에 비친 또 다른 타인의 모습일 수도 있다. 그들은 (버려진 아이들, 모피코트를 위해 잔인하게 희생당한 동물, 멸종위기 동물, 밀수된 앵무새, 염색 병아리, 상어잡이 미끼로 사용되는 개와 고양이, 유기견 등)을 상징하는 이미지들과 함께 동화적인 색감으로 어우러져 작업에 등장한다. ● 내가 생각하는 유토피아는 상처받고 버림받은 약한 존재들을 모두가 평등하게 서로 보듬어 주고, 인간의 이기적인 욕망에 의해 아무런 죄 없는 존재들이 잔인하고 무분별하게 포획되지 않으며 유기되지 않는 고통 없는 지상 낙원인 곳이다. ● 현실과 상상의 경계 속에서 재창조된 각각의 이미지들은 작품 전체에 다양한 내러티브 적인 요소를 제공한다. 상처와 고통으로 쉽게 마음을 열지 못하는 그들에게 내 작업이 따뜻한 마음의 안식처가 되길 바라며 현실 속에선 존재 할 수 없지만 의식 속에서 끊임없이 존재하는, 환상의 껍질이 아닌 그들을 위한 우리 모두를 위한 치유의 판타지 랜드가 되길 기대해 본다. ■ 한아름

Shelter of mind ● I'm usually interested in the existence which is abandoned, isolated, delicate or weak. There are a number of discarded things in the world. The life deserted by human, and even the inanimate dolls are discarded after someone owns them under the necessity. ● As painting, describing, and expressing the infinitely week and delicate things, I reproduce their existence by itself. Through my work, my image is reflected to them. They are the main characters in my piece and become the objects of my empathy at the same time. ● The work is largely divided into two forms; the image focusing on the subject itself and not the nature itself's landscape but the imaginary scene recasting the utopian space. The figures appearing in the work could be myself or other people reflecting on my eyes. They appear in the work mixing with the fairy tale color and the image symbolizing: the forsaken children, the animals cruelly sacrificed for the fur coat, endangered animals, smuggled parrots, dyed chicks, and dogs and cats using for the bait of shark-hunting. ● What I think about utopia is the place that everyone equally embraces wounded, abandoned, and weak existence. And the painless earthly paradise that the innocent existence is not cruelly and thoughtlessly captured or abandoned. ● Each image recreated in the boundary of reality and imagination offers a variety of narrative element in the whole piece. I expect that my work will be the warm home of heart, and be the fantasy land that couldn't be in reality but exists in the consciousness constantly, and that is not the cover of illusion but is for them and for all of us. ■ HANAHREUM
