나는 언제, 어디가 됐든 아무도 없는 낯선 곳으로 떠나길 꿈꾼다. 당장이라도 떠나고 싶지만 현실에 발맞춰 살다 보면 결코 쉽지 않다. 때로는 어지러운 현실(real)을 떠나, 내가 꿈꾸는 이상향의 세계로 떠나는 상상을 해본다. ● 예로부터 자연은 우리에게 많은 의미를 부여하였는데, 인간은 예술적 미의 소재나 원리를 자연에서 찾았고, 자연을 통해서 무엇인가를 표현해왔으며 끊임없이 갈구하고 제공 받고 있다. 자연에서 얻은 영감을 작가는 시각적으로 인식함으로써 이미지를 습득하게 되고, 대상을 관찰하며 느끼게 되는 창조적 의미를 다시 대상에게 부여하게 된다.

나의 그림 속에는 '민들레'라는 공통적인 소재가 등장한다. 내면 속에 존재하는 색상, 형태, 환상적 이미지들은 '민들레'라는 Motive를 통해 유토피아를 향하듯 부유하는 이미지로 표현되어졌다. 즉, 규격화된 일상을 벗어나고 싶다는 내재된 갈망은 '민들레'로 표현되어, 모호한 공간속을 끝없이 흩날리며 부유한다 ● 작품 속 대상에 개인의 감정을 이입하는 행위는, 내면의 살아있는 감각과 상상력을 동요시켜 갑갑한 현실에 대응할 수 있는 마음의 위안이 되기도 한다. 이처럼 내가 살고 있는 현실은, 캠퍼스를 통해 내가 꿈꾸는 환상의 공간으로 살며시 스며든다. ■ 허승은

I dream of leaving for somewhere no one is there, whenever and wherever. However much I would like to do it right away, it is not easy, due to attune to the reality. Consequently, sometimes I imagine to depart from the reality and heading for an utopia where I've been dreaming of. ● The nature has been offering plenty of significations from ancient times that the humankind has been trying to find materials and principles of the beauty from it and has been expressing through it. So it could be that the humankind thirsts for, and receives so many things from the nature. The artist takes images from the nature in the visual idea and finally returns creative meanings which made by observing to the object itself. ● In my works, the main material is the 'Dandelion'. Colors, forms and images which remain in my mind, are described as dandelions wandering and looking for the utopia. The inherent desire to leave from monotonic life would represent as dandelions; so it windblown and floats in the weird world without end. ● Empathies to the object of artworks agitate senses and imaginations that it also help to console my mind. ● Through canvas, the reality where I live, permeates softly into my fantastic space that I dream of. ■ Her Seung Eun
