나우나우 N(own)ow

지금(now)의 것, 그리고 지금 내가 가진 것(own)에 대한 이야기 ● 벨기에의 저명한 안무가 알랑 플라텔(Alain Platel)이 이끄는 세드라베(Les Ballets C. de la B.)의 다섯 남성무용수[예효승, 마튜 덴씬 라벨(Mathieu Dessigne Ravel), 엘리 타스(Elie Tass), 로스 맥코맥(Ross McComack), 로메우 루나(Romeu Runa)]들은 지난 2005년부터 6년이라는 기간에 걸쳐 깊은 우정과 예술적 교감을 나누면서 늘 함께 고민하고 움직이며 활동 해왔다. 그들은 습관처럼 '언젠가 우리가 이 그룹을 떠나기 전에 공동으로 공연을 만들어 보자'는 언약을 해왔는데, 이를 실행에 옮길 수 있는 기회를 한국에서 마련하게 되었다. ● 『N(own)ow』는 지금(now)의 것, 그리고 지금 내가 가진 것(own)을 보여주자는 의미로 탄생하였다. 이 작품은 현역 활동 무용수 겸 안무가들이 참여한다는 점에서 동시대적인 공감을 이끌어 내는 보편성을 가지면서도 각자의 독자적인 스타일을 작품에 담아내고자 하였기에 세밀한 부분에서는 개별성을 띠고 있다. ■ 예효승

A performance on what exists now and what we own ● 5 dancers from Les Ballets C. de la B., a company led by the renowned Belgian choreographer Alain Platel, have collaborated since 2005, sharing their friendship and artistic vision. They have frequently talked about the idea of creating a collaborative work before they leave the company. The artists have met this very opportunity in Korea and are about to present the results of their joint work. ● The work's title 『N(own)ow』 is derived from the idea to show what exists now and what we own. It's interesting to notice how the work holds both universal and individual qualities. It shares the contemporaneous feelings created by the artists who are currently active dancers and choreographers themselves, but also at the same time reflects independent styles of each artists coming from largely different backgrounds. ■ YEHYOSEUNG
