접속관계

접속관계 (Direct translation - connectional relationship, Dictionary - connection) connection; the act or state of connecting, a bridge between two or more ideas, concept or element. (행동이나 상태가 연결되거나 두 개 이상의 아이디어가 연결이 되는 컨셉, 또는 요소를 뜻한다.) ● 이 프로젝트는 보이지 않지만 모든 만남과 관계에 있어 존재하는 연결의 순간을 반영한다. 이 프로젝트의 제목『접속관계』는 나의 사적 언어로서 '접속관계'의 의미와 한국에서 보통 이해하고 쓰는 '접속관계'의 의미간의 차이에 오는 갈등과 이해를 담고 있다. 이 세 개의 작품은 여기 이 장소에서 만남으로써 따로 또 같이 존재하며 장소특정적(site specific) 작품이 된다. ● "접속관계"는 연결되는 단계 또는 어떠한 연결이 진행중인 상태를 공간화한 프로젝트이다. 이번 전시는「부서진 벽 그리고 변형」,「무제」,「무인도들」의 세 가지 다른 작업이 만나는 공간에서 관객의 참여로 끊임없이 새로운 이야기들이 만들어진다. ● 'Connection'은 정반대의 주제도 상호작용, 소통 또한 발전할 수 있는 환경을 마련한다. Interaction은 마치 화학작용과도 같으며 사람은 화학작용에서 첨가제로 비유될 수 있다. 이와 같이 관객은 변형을 일으키고 이러한 지속적인 변형으로 끊임없는 발전을 이룰 수 있다. 세 가지 다른 작품의 성격/특색은 '연결된 상태'의 공간을 조성한다. 이 공간에서 사람은 각각의 첨가제로서 자신만의 세계 또는 영역을 생산하게 된다. 마음이 끌리는 연결다리가 존재하는 환경을 조성함으로써 관객들이 쉽게 다리를 건너며 개개인의 호기심을 발산하여 다양한 이야기를 만들어가길 바란다. ■ 청혜

접속관계 (Direct translation - connectional relationship, Dictionary - connection) connection; the act or state of connecting, a bridge between two or more ideas, concept or element. ● This project reflects on the split moment that exists in every encounter, relationship, connection between people, with material and all other elements. The title of this project '접속관계' draws from the conflict and understanding within the gap between my personal understanding of the word and how it is used commonly in Korean language. Three art works have been put into this location forming the site-specific work, creating one body of work embodying each of their own characteristic. ● In this project '접속관계', an act or state of connecting is contextualized as an atmosphere. This atmosphere is created in this particular space through an encountering of three different works: 'Muje', 'Morphing of destroyed self-imposed limit' and 'Island'. Their fluid and debatable conversation creates an atmosphere with many interesting directions with split moment of connecting. ● Connection helps to create an environment where two opposite concepts can interact, communicate and even evolve. Interaction is like a chemical reaction, and people are like additives that each and every additive creates a modification. And through this constant transformation one can continue to develop. Different conditions between three works will create an atmosphere of 'state of connecting,' and in this condition, visitors will produce their own realm acting as an individual and unique additive. I'd like to introduce an atmosphere where this bridge is tempting and approachable thus encourage the visitors to cross the bridge and act on their curiosity creating their own dialogue. ■ Sophia Lee
