REFLECTION

지독하게 괴롭고 낯선 감정들을 지우기 위해 그 시간을 유쾌하게 전환시켜 상상하곤 했던 어린시절의 기억을 떠올리게 되었다. 심각하고 무거운 감정을 느낌에도 불구하고 그 순간을 희화화시켜 낄낄거리곤 했다. 나의 작업은 어린시절에 해왔던 것처럼 무언가를 나만의 시선으로 기억하고 상상함으로써 그 시간을 흥미롭게 바꾸어 화면에 담는다. 그리고 감각을 충족하는 흥미로운 형상을 수집하고 그것들을 그리는 행위는 나의 생각과 시선을 담은 눈이자 가장 큰 위로의 수단이다. ■ 김정은

I reminisce upon the childhood memories whereby in order to erase the excruciatingly distressed and unfamilar emotions, such times were transferred into pleasant imagination. Despite the fact that grave and heavy emotions were felt, that moment was caricatured and giggled upon. My job is to remember some things from my own perspective, just like I have done so during my childhood, changing that time in an interesting manner, and containing them in the screen. Furthermore, collecting fascinating shapes that satisfies the emotions and drawing them is equivalent to my thought and gaze, as well as the most significant mean of consolation. ■ KIMJUNGEUN
