울게하소서_로드킬Project展 ● 본 프로젝트는 자유로에서 벌어지는 로드킬에 관한 것이다. 2012년 가을에 자유로 4차선에서 길을 건너는 오리가족을 만난 후부터 로드킬에 대한 작업을 구상하게 되었다. 동물의 시각으로 자유로를 보기 위해 자유로 화단에 숨어 영상촬영을 했고 공포에 가까운 바퀴소리와 몰려오는 바람에 몸이 흔들리기도 했다. 그 수많은 동물들은 이 죽음의 길에 발걸음을 어떻게 뗐을까... 나는 그들을 애도하고자 한다. 죽은 이를 슬퍼하며 지은 글을 천에 적어 장례행렬을 따르던 것을 만장이라고 하는데 전시장 가득 만장을 설치하여 도로위에서 죽음을 맞이한 수많은 동물들의 넋을 기리고 그 안타까운 죽음을 애도하려고 한다. 이 프로젝트 전시를 통해 아무도 알아주지 않는 힘없는 여린 존재들의 삶의 비극과 사회의 잔인성, 인간의 욕망과 폭력성 등을 되짚어 보고자한다. ■ 고영미

기러기 뱃속에서 낟알과 지렁이가 섞이고 있을 때 ● 강가에 물고기 잡으러 가던 고양이를 친 트럭은 / 놀라서 엉덩이를 약간 씰룩거렸지만 / 아무렇지도 않게 북으로 질주한다 / 숲으로 가던 토끼는 차바퀴가 몸 위를 지나갈 때마다 / 작아지고 작아져서 공기가 되어 가고 있다 / 흰 구름이 토끼 모양을 만들었다 / 짐승들의 장례식이 이렇게 바뀌었구나 / 긴 차량 행렬이 곧 조문 행렬이었다 / 시체를 밟지 않으려고 조심해도 소용없다 / 자동차가 질주할 때마다 태어나는 바람이 / 고양이와 토끼와 개의 몸을 조금씩 갉아먹는다 / 고양이와 토끼와 개의 가족들은 멀리서 바라볼 뿐 / 시체라도 거두려고 하다간 줄초상 난다 / 장례식은 쉬 끝나지 않는다 / 며칠이고 자유로를 뒹굴면서 / 살점을 하나하나 내던지는 고양이 아닌 고양이 / 개 아닌 개 토끼 아닌 토끼인 채로 하루하루 / 하루하루 석양만이 얼굴을 붉히며 운다 / 남북을 자유자재로 오가는 기러기의 뱃속에서 / 낟알과 지렁이가 뒤섞이고 있을 때 / 출판단지 진입로에서도 / 살쾡이의 풍장이 열 하루째 진행되고 있다 ■ 차창룡

Let me weep_The Roadkill Project ● This project is about roadkill on Jayuro Road, Gyeonggi-do. Since witnessing a family of ducks crossing the four-lane road in the autumn of 2012, I conceived a project on roadkill. I took motion pictures from the Jayuro Road’s flowerbed to see the road from the viewpoint of animals. I could feel my body shaking with the sweeping wind, and I was overtaken by fear from the sound of car wheels. How did numerous animals step onto this road of death? I would like to mourn them. Manjang is a funeral ode written on some kind of cloth for the condolence of the dead. People make a banner with it and then follow the bier to the burial ground. I try to pay my respects to the souls of innumerable animals that have died on the road and mourn their regrettable death. I intend to review tragedies of the lives that these unknown, trifling, and vulnerable beings have undergone; society’s cruelty; human desire; and violence through this project. ■ KOYOUNGMEE

When grains and earthworms are mixed in a wild goose's stomach ● A truck that strikes a cat traveling to the river to catch fish runs / With its hips slightly swaying in surprise / But speeds north as if nothing happened. / A rabbit on its way to a forest becomes smaller and smaller / And turns into air as its body is overstridden by the wheels of automobiles. / A rabbit form is shaped with white clouds. The animals' funeral has changed into this. / A long line of automobiles has become a procession of mourners. / It is of no use to try to avoid treading on the corpses. / Every time a car speeds, the winds are aroused / And take bites out of the bodies of cats, rabbits, and dogs little by little. / The families of the cats, rabbits, and dogs cannot help but look from afar. / If the families try to retrieve the bodies, they might go through similar deaths. / The funeral does not come to a quick or easy end. / It is a cat not a cat, a dog not a dog tossing a piece of their flesh one by one / While rolling on the Jayuro Road for a few days. / Only the sunset weeps day by day, blushing its face. / When grains and earthworms are mixed / In the stomach of a wild goose coming and going between north and south at its pleasure, / An aerial burial of a wildcat is executed for 11 days. / Cloth for condolences / Run on the Jayuro Road ■ CHACHANGRYONG
