■ PROGRAM A 『Understanding Modern Art』: Focus on discussion about modern art

1. 목적 : 영어와 한국어로 듣는 현대미술 강의로 동시대 미술동향의 기초가 된 20세기 전 후반 세계미술의 흐름을 짚어보고 흥미로운 이슈들에 대해 토픽을 선정하여 자유로운 토론을 해본다.

□ Instructor : Tom Lee Course description : This course is an introduction to the western art of the late 19th and 20th centuries. The classes will focus on the art of the late nineteenth and twentieth century chronologically. Students can expect to encounter artist, artworks, and historical and stylistic groupings that, over time, have come to be considered milestones of the modern, postmodern and contemporary period such as impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, surrealism, abstract expressionism and pop art. Each week is separated into two parts first hour will be lecture based in English, followed by second hour of class summery and discussions in Korean.
